"The train is at 5:30 tomorrow morning. I need you all to push a little harder and make sure all the goods are loaded on board before 5:15."
"You can catch up on sleep and eat once you’re on board. I’ll bring you food tomorrow..."
"Don’t worry, I’ll absolutely make sure you’re all compensated for the overtime."
Chi Yun’er stood up, stretched her neck, and gave the instructions with a smile.
"No need. I’ll just have some crackers to tide me over. I’m saving room for the food at the stations," Zhao Jinming said, waving his hand with a smile and patting his stomach. "Even though I won’t have time to get off and explore along the way, the snacks they sell at the stations alone will be enough to keep me happy. I’ll bring you all back souvenirs..."
The schedule for this exchange of heat-relief supplies was too tight. He wouldn’t even have time to look around at the destination before catching a ride straight back.
That being said, after Chi Yun’er went home for a quick dinner, she rode her bike back to work and ran into Xu Chengfang at the main gate.
They couldn’t help but laugh. "Chi Yun’er, you really have to build this kind of chemistry from a young age! I’m sure we’ll continue to be the ’iron triangle’ at work and take the entire General Hospital by storm!"
Chi Yun’er nodded, parked her bike by the gatehouse, and hopped in Xu Chengfang’s vehicle without a second thought, heading straight for the warehouse.
Zhao Jinming was your typical pampered young master from the Capital City. He came from a good family, and his skin was so fair it made other girls burn with envy.
But now, he had his shirt off, just like the other laborers. With a towel slung over his shoulder, he tirelessly carried goods back and forth, his face covered in dust and grime.
An idea sparked in Chi Yun’er’s eyes. She whispered something to Xu Chengfang, who nodded eagerly, turned around, and rode off. She returned a short while later, trailed by a panting young man with a camera around his neck, jogging to keep up.
On this late June evening in the Capital City, the breeze was mild. The sunset glow washed over half the sky, stretching the workers’ shadows long. They looked like exquisite, story-filled silhouettes, and the scene was filled with a moving beauty.
The young man was taken aback for a moment. He took a couple of deep breaths to catch his wind, then raised his camera and started shooting from different angles. CLICK.
Chi Yun’er even had the young man take close-ups of the crew, making sure to prominently feature the large beads of sweat on Zhao Jinming’s forehead.
