"By the way, the office building behind you has been converted into a guest house. Some of you will be working here..."
Hearing Xu Chengfang’s words, everyone stared, their hearts burning with anticipation.
They could all imagine what their future workdays would be like. The nervous excitement was so intense they hardly dared to breathe.
"You’ve all had a tough couple of days, what with the travel and the exam. Go back and get a good rest."
"The cafeteria will provide two meals tomorrow, which you can claim using your admission tickets. The exam results will be posted tomorrow afternoon on the bulletin board below the guest house. Copies will also be posted on the bulletin boards on all four sides of the hospital."
"Whether you’re accepted or not, always remember: fate never overlooks the diligent."
"You’ve taken one step ahead, and in the future, you will continue to stay steps ahead of others..."
Xu Chengfang recalled the pep talks Chi Yun’er usually gave her, picked out the lines that resonated with her the most, and shared them with the crowd.
She understood Chi Yun’er’s meaning perfectly. There wouldn’t be many positions available down the road, but with the country developing so rapidly, those who didn’t study would be overtaken and left behind.
She hoped everyone would understand the good intentions of Yunyun and the hospital.
The educated youth sent to the countryside were a group of exceptionally talented and hardworking comrades.
Their entire lives shouldn’t be lost to stagnant manual labor just because they were born a few years too early or a few years too late.
Many of them had been top students in their classes, filled with passionate idealism as they volunteered to go to the countryside to support rural development. But the gap between reality and their ideals was too vast; none of them expected to find no use for all their learning.
The educated youth weren’t lacking in any way—all they needed was an opportunity, a launching pad.
Chi Yun’er’s goal was to use the name of Kyoto General Hospital to inspire all the educated youth to immerse themselves in their studies and wait for their moment to soar.
Chi Yun’er knew the educated youths’ time was precious and that the journey back and forth was incredibly difficult.
That was why she had arranged in advance for high school, middle school, and elementary school teachers still on their summer break to help grade the exams.
