Chi Yun’er rubbed her face and sighed softly. "Where did you two get the idea I was unhappy?"
"If anything, I’m overjoyed, alright?"
As she spoke, she slapped the signed and red-stamped application form down on the table.
Mr. Chi and Mrs. Chi exchanged a glance, then stepped forward to take a look.
They recognized all the words, but when pieced together, the meaning was hard to grasp.
"Honey, are my old eyes failing me? I need my glasses." Mr. Chi pulled his spectacles from his pocket, put them on, and kept reading. The words hadn’t changed.
Mrs. Chi clutched her chest. "Oh, this child. It’s not a holiday or any special occasion. Who are you trying to give a heart attack?"
If her work unit had recommended her for university, Mr. Chi would have been the first to know. Since he hadn’t heard a single thing, that theory didn’t hold up. Besides, the General Hospital could typically only recommend someone for Kyoto Medical College!
And Imperial University wasn’t just any university. Not every workplace had a quota for recommendations.
Getting into Imperial University was like hitting the jackpot; a once-in-a-lifetime stroke of luck.
Even living in the Capital City, the only person they knew who had graduated from Imperial University was Jiang Yihua.
’Could something this wonderful really happen to our daughter?’
Chi Yun’er chuckled and explained what had happened. "I’m still in a daze myself."
"I didn’t study for it, I didn’t take any exams, and suddenly I’m a student in Imperial University’s architecture department. This has to be a dream, right?"
Mrs. Chi pinched Mr. Chi, who let out a yelp of pain.
