Chapter 400
After Mia asked, it suddenly hit her; she’d totally forgotten about what happened a few days ago. She slapped her forehead. “Ugh, my useless brain! How could I forget something this important?”
Then she started ranting in her head about Herbert, that jerk. ‘It’s all his fault for messing around with that fake innocence, Leonie. Because of them, I missed such a crucial part!‘ Mia fumed inwardly.
Mia dropped her dessert and smoothie, turning to Aurelia. “You still haven’t told me what really happened that night? Did you two take things to the next level?”
‘Otherwise, why would Cassian be dodging Aurelia?‘ Mia thought. ‘He’s obviously acting like a guilty thief!
Aurelia stammered, “No…”
“But weren’t you drugged? The doctor Darren brought over checked you out and said Juliana hit you with some seriously strong stuff. You either had to get hooked up to an IV for detox, or, well… let a guy help you out. And you definitely didn’t ge the IV,” Mia pressed.
Aurelia got even more flustered. “It’s just… you know…”
Mia was never one to beat around the bush. Seeing Aurelia still stammering, she just cut to the chase. “So which is it? Did you two go all the way, or was it just some fooling around?” Mia pressed.
Aurelia was speechless. ‘Having a friend this fearless is honestly a blessing,‘ Aurelia thought.
“Why are you blushing? Just tell me already!” Mia pressed, getting even more impatient.
Aurelia covered her face. “Let’s just say… both happened, alright?”
Mia’s eyes widened. “So he’s avoiding you… Wait, don’t tell me it’s because he couldn’t?”
Aurelia was speechless. ‘I can’t believe Mia’s imagination sometimes,‘ Aurelia thought.
“That’s definitely it! Why else would he be dodging you? He’s just too ashamed to face you!” Mia said, sounding more and more convinced by her own theory.
Aurelia didn’t respond, choosing to stay silent. Trying to explain would only make things worse.
While they were still working on their desserts, a group suddenly stormed into the restaurant. There were five or six of them, all huge, muscle–bound guys.
Aurelia’s crew immediately moved to shield her, forming a protective wall and blocking the newcomers‘ path
At the front was a burly guy with a huge gold chain around his neck. He sized up Rex, realized he was outmatched, and took
a half–step back. Then he called out in Aurelia’s direction, “Ms. Corin, our boss wants to see you.”
“If he wants to see me, he can just come over himself. Why all the fuss?” Aurelia replied, completely unfazed by their intimidating presence.
Seeing he couldn’t just drag her away, the burly guy pulled out his phone and made a call. Not long after, another person walked into the dessert shop.
It was Joseph. He looked pretty anxious. When Rex blocked his way, he said, “I need to talk to Ms. Corin about something really important. I promise I won’t hurt her.”

Chapter 400
Joseph was just a guy in his sixties, and Aurelia figured he wouldn’t dare try anything She nodded at Rock to let hovers there
Rex only let Joseph in. When he was just a couple of steps away from Aurelia, he lowered his head respectfully, his four full of genuine sincerity.
“Ms. Corin, my daughter Juliana made a mistake and offended you before, but you weren’t really harmed. Please, You What’s sake, could you spare Juliana this time?”
Aurelia couldn’t help feeling confused. From the way Joseph’s talking, did Juliana get herself into trouble or something had now he thinks I’m the one who did it, so he’s here begging me to spare her? Aurelia thought.
But honestly, she hadn’t done a thing to Juliana. It wasn’t as if she had let it slide out of kindness or anything, After all, Juliana had been Zofia’s real sister.
And being in Veyport, both personally and for practical reasons, she couldn’t just go after Juliana that easily
Did Darren actually do it? No way,’ she wondered.
Darren cares about Zofia way more than I do; of course, he’d worry about the Sands family’s reputation even more. He wouldn’t mess with Juliana, not a chance,‘ she thought.
Hardly anyone knew about what happened, and there was just one person Aurelia could possibly suspect. That name kept echoing in her mind, growing sharper with every passing second.
‘Look, Mr. Sands, this isn’t my business. You’ve got the wrong person,” Aurelia said.
oseph looked taken aback. “Ms. Corin, I’m really here in good faith…”
Aurelia cut him off. “I’m being honest here. Don’t waste your time.”
oseph could see she was dead serious. A chill ran down his spine, and his face went pale. He didn’t waste another second. He gathered his men and bolted out of the dessert shop.
As soon as Aurelia walked out of the dessert shop, her phone buzzed; Darren was calling.
oseph really moved fast. He must’ve hit up Darren right after he walked out. So Aurelia could pretty much guess what Darren wanted.
she picked up, and Darren didn’t waste any time. “Can you get in touch with Cassian? I think he’s the one who took Juliana”
Aurelia was just as straightforward. “He’s not picking up my calls.”
Try again,” Darren said.
Aurelia tried calling Cassian again, just like Darren asked. But she still couldn’t reach him. She had absolutely no idea where he was or what he might have done to Juliana.
Mia, who’d been listening in the whole time, finally spoke up. “Cassian’s actually acting like a decent human being for once.” Mia always had her, friends‘ backs, logic be damned. Juliana had hurt her friend Aurelia, so she should have known there
would be consequences.
If something happened to her, she totally had it coming. Just because she was nuts didn’t mean she could do whatever she
wanted.
Aurelia and Mia had just returned to Veyport when a red car suddenly cut them off, blocking their path. Rex instantly moved to stand in front of them, ready to protect them.
