“Jeremy’s business moves are cutthroat. Aren’t you worried he’ll turn on you if you team up with him?”
Patience had no idea that Amelia had once saved this man’s life, or that they’d been in close contact for a while.
“Relax. I know what I’m doing. He’s not nearly as scary as people say.” At least, not to her.
That was Amelia’s honest take.
“Patience, Mr. Curran might be harsh with everyone else, but when it comes to Amelia, it’s different. You don’t need to stress about it.”
Josie gave her a warm smile, then shot Amelia a knowing look, like she was holding back on
purpose.
It made sense that Patience, who had just come back to the country, didn’t know all the details.
Josie, though, had been around Amelia long enough to notice how Jeremy kept trying to get
closer to her.
“Ohhh, so there’s something going on here that I haven’t heard about?”
Patience’s bright eyes narrowed into little crescents, and she grinned playfully.
She was sharp–just from Josie’s tone and word choice, she’d already pieced together most of the story.
“Okay, enough gossip. Let’s focus. Our target is Nygard Group.”
A faint wave of embarrassment rippled through Amelia, but she didn’t show it.
Romance wasn’t on her mind right now. What she wanted was to take back what was hers and hit back at the people who had bullied and framed her.
Josie and Patience felt the same way. They weren’t about to let the Nygards off easy.
Those people were cruel and calculating.
At Nygard Entertainment.
At the moment, Maxwell and Gianna were holed up, preparing for the Popular Model Contest, barely showing their faces in public.

Even if Gianna wasn’t out and about, her team kept pushing her image online, hyping her
nonstop.
Her schedule was even posted on Twitter.
So fans already knew she was entering the modeling contest.
Her diehard followers went wild, spamming comments and swearing they’d back her no matter what.
Meanwhile, Amelia’s fans also knew she’d be competing, and she was bound to run into Gianna
Those three have always been background noise. They’re unimportant and replaceable.
Now that they’ve canceled their contracts, Nygard Group will still pocket three termination fees. It’s basically free money.
Gianna’s ghost singer. Better to watch what she does.”

“Got it, Maxwell. I’ll handle it. Also, should we release a public statement about these departures to clarify Nygard Group’s stance?”
Maxwell thought for a second. “Not yet. Let’s wait and see how that little company plays it.”
This wasn’t really his area. He figured he’d run it by Marcelo later and let him decide.
Right then, Gianna stepped out of the fitting room.
“Maxwell, how do I look?”
Lina glanced over and saw Gianna in a vintage–inspired outfit, paired with bold, seductive makeup.
“Gianna, you look gorgeous. You’re totally worthy of being Nygard Group’s heiress. You can pull off any style like it’s nothing!”
Maxwell stared at her, captivated. But really, he was admiring his own work.
He was Gianna’s exclusive stylist. Everything about her look, from head to toe, was designed by
him.
“Really?” Gianna blinked, then her cheeks flushed pink. Her big, watery eyes lit up with joy.
