She arched a brow. “Don’t tell me you just happened to be in the area.” Seriously, how many coincidences could there be?

“Nope. I came just to see you–and figured I’d drive you home too,” he said matter–of–factly.

“Oh, okay.” With that, Amelia naturally slid into the passenger seat.

Once she was settled, she asked, “So why exactly are you here?”

Jeremy chuckled and shot her a look.

“What, you help your employees break their contracts, and now you’re trying to back out on

Emery was both upset and disappointed. My own daughter is turning into a rebel–she’s nothing like Gianna, who’s obedient and sensible.

She even wondered if, during those missing years, Amelia had fallen in with the wrong kind of people, and she only came back later because she had no choice.

She could still picture Amelia as a little girl–bright, clever, and unusually well–behaved.

She had a small, delicate face with big, expressive eyes–anyone who saw her would instantly be taken in by her charm.
