Everyone in the circle already knew Thea had been sick not long ago.

Now that she was standing there like nothing had happened, everyone was shocked. They figured she’d found some miracle doctor.
But who would have guessed that the doctor was Amelia? That was crazy!
Even Emery was puzzled. Wasn’t Amelia only supposed to help contact some doctors? How did she become Thea’s lead surgeon?
“Look, your face is what it is now. No doctor can fix it,” Amelia said straight. “So either you take a gamble, or you wear a mask forever. Your choice.”
She didn’t want to waste time arguing. If it weren’t connected to The Alchemist Guild, she wouldn’t care.
The situation was obvious. Diana already knew those so–called top doctors at the hospital couldn’t help.
Some plastic surgeons even suggested replacing the whole skin. But changing skin wasn’t like flipping a switch.
Forget whether it would work or what the side effects could be. The idea of going through many surgeries was terrifying.
“Can you truly fix my face?” Diana asked, hesitating and feeling for a way out. Honestly, she had no real options left and had to try something.
“Of course. Why else would I be here?” Amelia walked over, calm as ever, then added seriously, “My consultation fee isn’t cheap. Don’t expect me to do it for free.”
“How much?” Diana blurted out.
“Ten million.” Since the skincare clue helped, Amelia had already halved the price.
“What? Ten million? You must be joking!” Diana was stunned.
Thea, on the other hand, felt lucky. Her niece’s consultation fee was huge. Given her previous situation, it probably cost even more back then.
Amelia suddenly seemed to glow with confidence, like pure gold.
“No problem. This whole mess started with Gianna. Let Mrs. Nygard pay,” Amelia said with a sly grin and shoved the problem onto Emery,

Emery was furious and resentful, thinking Amelia couldn’t compare to Gianna. She wanted to strangle Amelia, but she knew she’d lose.
“Fine then. Go ahead and try.”
Diana was backed into a corner with no choice. She racked her brain and couldn’t find a better option, so she had to rely on the girl she usually disliked.
It felt absurd, but she had to go along.
“I can tell you for sure your face is ruined because you were poisoned,” Amelia said casually. Immediately, Diana and Emery were terrified.
“Poisoned?”
“Yes, I’ve felt like that these past few days.” Diana thought it was just nerves from the ruined face.

“Exactly. In a few days, you truly won’t be able to breathe, and you’ll be gone.”
“So what should I do?” Now, Diana was desperate enough to believe anything.
“Take this, and your symptoms will start to ease by tomorrow. Your skin will get better, too.”
Amelia held out her hand, showing a big, pitch–black pill.
“Is this for real? It’s not some sketchy product, right? Which company made it?”
Diana had been burned by fake products. If it wasn’t from a real company or the instructions weren’t clear, she was scared to try it.
