Just a little while ago, Gianna had been saying that Amelia was quiet and didn’t get along with anyone. She likes to keep to herself.
But now, seeing Amelia talking and laughing happily with two beautiful women, it was obvious they got along really well, like best friends.
Unlike the people around Gianna, who were full of fake smiles, only pretending to be nice to her.
Gianna suddenly felt like she had embarrassed herself with her own words.
Her face turned sour, and she looked upset.
She never thought Amelia would appear in front of everyone like this.
Trying not to show her anger, Gianna forced a proud smile and walked toward her.
“Amelia, you’re finally here. I thought you weren’t coming,” she said.
Amelia gave her a cold look and smiled slightly, her tone full of sarcasm. “I’ve been on this yacht for a while already. Did you forget?”
That made Gianna even more uncomfortable.
All the socialites and actresses who had been mocking Amelia just a moment ago went silent.
They hadn’t expected her to be so confident and charming–nothing like what they had imagined.
Recently, Amelia had become really popular. She did great on reality shows and even won the Popular Model Contest.
She gained a lot of attention and fans, which made some people jealous.
One jealous actress muttered, “She’s only dressed well. Maybe she just rented that gown.”
Amelia seemed to hear her. She shot the actress a sharp, icy look. The woman quickly looked down, too scared to meet Amelia’s eyes.
How could one person have such a strong presence? It was terrifying!
Seeing what happened, Gianna quickly tried to smooth things over. “Amelia, don’t be mad.

They were only joking.”
“Yeah, sure. Someone as useless as you isn’t even worth arguing with.”
Patience, standing beside Amelia, shot back right away without thinking twice.

In the past, when Maxwell was her boyfriend, she used to hold back and take Gianna’s rude behavior.
She had wanted to talk back for a long time, and now that she finally had the chance, she didn’t hold anything back.
It felt so good to say whatever she wanted finally!
“You!” Gianna was so angry she almost started cursing, but she forced herself to stay calm.
How dare this bitch insult me in front of so many people!
How dare she!
Didn’t she worry I might complain to Maxwell again?

Gianna’s face turned so red, and she didn’t know where to look.
“Patience, I know you’ve hated my family since you and Maxwell broke up, but attack me like this,” Gianna said.
you can’t just
Gianna was good at acting like a victim–pretending to be weak and innocent.
And sure enough, once she did that, people quickly jumped in to defend her.
“Yeah, Gianna used to sing really well. Every song she sang became a hit. She only started acting because she hurt her voice,” someone said.
“You’re just petty. Just because her brother dumped you doesn’t mean you should take it out on his sister,” another person added.
Everyone at the party was either rich or famous.
They were all socialites, top celebrities, or Gianna’s loyal supporters.
Some of the socialites weren’t familiar with the entertainment industry, so they just sided with Gianna without knowing the whole story.
“Patience never hated me. Don’t twist the story,” Amelia said firmly.
She turned her head slightly, her cold eyes sweeping over the crowd. A faint, mocking smile tugged at her lips.
“Who said I was talking about you? I meant Gianna,” the woman replied, clearly not understanding the real jab.
Amelia responded, “Didn’t you just say someone from the Nygards–Maxwell’s sister? Isn’t that
me?”
Her tone was light, but everyone could hear the sharp edge beneath it. She was clearly reminding everyone that Gianna was only an adopted daughter, with no real blood ties to the Nygards.
