Chapter 239 Be Careful

Jeremy got hurt because of her, so Amelia figured bringing him water or helping a bit was the
least she could do.
“Sorry, could you feed me? My hands aren’t working right now.”
“Sure.” Amelia didn’t argue and did what he asked.
“Can you peel me an apple? I can’t hold it myself. Can you feed me?”
“Amelia, can you help me up? I wanna get some sun. It’s way too stuffy here.”
Amelia was speechless.
Seriously? Why does he suddenly act like he can’t do anything on his own?
It was just his hand that was injured, not his whole body.
And now he wanted her to help him stand up?
She was full of questions and kind of annoyed. But when she saw the sad look on his face, she couldn’t stay mad.
With a sigh, she got up, walked over, and carefully helped him sit up.
Jeremy leaned against her, and just like that, they were standing side by side.
He smirked a little, a small, satisfied smile tugging at his lips.
They walked outside side by side, sunlight warming their faces.
It wasn’t until Jeremy picked up a call that the quiet moment ended.
He frowned slightly and said, “I already had someone check. It was truly Uncle Wade who made it happen.”
“Why would he do that? Just because we’re working together now, and he wants to take both of us down?”
Amelia frowned, feeling that it couldn’t be that simple.
Her company was tiny and still new. Sure, it had started getting some attention, but nothing worth making enemies over.
Plus, her partnership with Jeremy didn’t even involve the Nygard Group. She’d never used that

Wade was too sharp and experienced to care about the Nygards.

Compared to someone like the Currans, her little company wasn’t even worth his time.
Even if she had used the Nygard name, it still wouldn’t have made the Currans nervous.
Of course, Jeremy didn’t tell her the truth. Wade had learned that Jeremy liked her and paid attention to her, so he went after her.
It was a perfect plan to hit both her and Jeremy at once.

When both of them were sent to the hospital, visitors kept coming to see Jeremy.
Even Wade stopped by. They exchanged a few polite, fake words before Wade walked off.
Amelia noticed Wade leaving with a dark look on his face.
After all, the person he wanted gone was still alive, healthy, and even eating well. Of course he’d be angry.
Meanwhile, hardly anyone came for Amelia except her two best friends, Patience and Josie.
As for the Nygards, not a single one showed up.
That was mostly because she hadn’t reached out to them. They’d never bothered checking on her, so they had no idea she’d been in a car crash.
Maybe that was for the best. If they had shown up, it would’ve just been for appearances, and she didn’t want to deal with that kind of act.
Patience and Josie were both super relieved to see Amelia was fine.
Patience started nagging the moment she walked in. “You scared us to death! Something this serious happens, and you don’t even tell us?”
Josie added, “Right! If I hadn’t kept asking around, we wouldn’t have even known you were in the hospital!”
