285 Turning the Tables (Part Two)
“Man, you really see the difference when you compare them. That adopted daughter is nothing
like her.”
Today, another storm was brewing inside Nygard Group.
Even the people who used to benefit from Gianna’s favor didn’t dare speak up anymore.
The company was holding another shareholder and senior management meeting, and this time, the agenda was even more important than before.
“Our company’s reputation and stock value have finally started recovering to where they used to be,” announced the host.
“But if we want to keep it stable–and even grow further–we need stronger publicity for the company.
“So, after a unanimous decision from both the shareholders and the executives, Ms. Amelia will become the official brand ambassador of Nygard Group. She’ll represent the company in all marketing and public campaigns.”
Elian, one of the shareholders and senior executives, was the one who made the official announcement.
The decision had already been discussed and approved by all upper management.
As the eldest Nygard daughter, Amelia had saved the company in record time and made extraordinary contributions.
Plus, she already owned her own entertainment company, which meant she could personally. take charge of Nygard Group’s publicity work.
The company would have to pay for promotion anyway, so giving the project to her was the most logical.choice.
With her skills, influence, and rising popularity, she was the perfect candidate.
No one objected–except one person.
No surprise there.
It was Gianna,
She was furious. Why should that woman be chosen as the face of the company?
1/3
She was clearly the better fit–the one who matched the brand image best.
If it hadn’t been for her efforts, the herbs at the base would have been wiped out completely, and there’d have been nothing to report to the higher–ups.
If something really had gone wrong, Amelia wouldn’t even be in the picture.
Seniority mattered, didn’t it?
So why should Amelia–someone who joined late and only made a few small contributions- get all the spotlight?
Still, Gianna wasn’t stupid enough to say it out loud.
So the first person she went to complain to was Miguel.
Miguel had been having a rough time lately, and his patience was wearing thin.
He hadn’t even caught his breath before Gianna came to pester him again.
She even hinted that Amelia was trying to turn the three Nygard brothers against each other.
Emery hugged her gently, patting her back to calm her down.
“Gianna, don’t cry. I know you’ve been working so hard for the company,” she said softly.
To Emery, it was already impressive that her adopted daughter–who wasn’t even related by blood–was so dedicated and grateful toward the Nygard family.
Seeing her so upset now made Emery’s heart ache.
“Amelia did help the company this time,” Emery said, “but she’s getting too proud. People like that always trip over themselves eventually.
“When your brothers get back, I’ll talk to them. Maybe they can speak with the shareholders and get you appointed as the new ambassador instead.”
Emery had been pampered her whole life, growing up in luxury and comfort.
She’d never faced hardship, never worked, and never built anything on her own.
Since marrying into the Nygard family, she had lived an easy, sheltered life, completely unaware of how the company actually ran.
She believed whatever Raymond, Marcelo, Miguel, Maxwell, or even Gianna told her.
The truth was, she’d just been blessed–born into wealth, married even better, and blessed with a scandal–free husband.
Among her circle of rich wives, people often whispered that Emery had done nothing to earn her comfort. She was just born under a shining star–and married into an even better one.
