Amelia, what do you have to fight me with?

Vincent is mine.

Over the next few days, the Nygards showed up at the hospital twice. They only stayed for a few minutes cach time before leaving.

Thea didn’t care anymore. Once she realized what kind of people they truly were, she lost all interest in dealing with them.

Still, she couldn’t help feeling disappointed.

She never imagined her brother would lose his conscience over company shares.

After a week of observation, Thea’s condition stabilized, and she was discharged.

She owned a house in the city,

so she

home to recover.

Her maids took care of her, which made things easier.

Amelia, still worried, visited often to check on her.

Once she was discharged, Thea called her family to tell them what had happened.

Her daughter, Demi Pearson, soon returned from overseas.

Once Thea was settled and cared for, Amelia finally felt relieved.

After the illness, Thea decided she wouldn’t leave the

country again.

She felt that this was still her real home. It was the best place for her to recover.

Demi had just graduated that semester and planned to start working back home so she could stay close to her mother.

Still, one thing puzzled Amelia–Thea’s husband, Bryant Pearson, hadn’t come back.

His wife had been seriously ill, and he doesn’t even visit?

The thought made Amelia frown.

But since Thea didn’t mention it, she chose not to press further.

Meanwhile, at the Curran Estate, the most prestigious estate in Brookhaven.

The sunset bathed the gates in gold. The servants lined up neatly, bowing as the black luxury car stopped in front. “Good evening, Mr. Jeremy. Welcome home!”

Jeremy gave a slight nod. His tall figure cast a sharp shadow in the fading sunlight.

Dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, his eyes were cold and focused.

Before he even stepped into the grand hall, a mocking voice echoed through the marble corridor.

“Jeremy’s a fine young man, such a pity though… stuck with that broken body of his. Living must be

torture.”

“No need,” Jeremy replied. “I’ve reached out to Dr. Acc. I believe I’ll hear back soon.” He straightened his back. His gaze, cold and razor–sharp, fell on Wade.

Wade’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly.

So the rumors were true.

The mysterious Dr. Ace has really appeared?

Wade knew he couldn’t just sit back and wait anymore. He had to act first.

The Curran Group was supposed to be his.

He forced down the unease building inside him and put on a fake smile. “Jeremy,” he said smoothly, “I’ve also sent people everywhere to look for Dr. Ace. Don’t worry, we’ll find him.”

Jeremy’s lips curved into a half–smile. “Thank you, Uncle Wade.”

The way Jeremy looked at him made Wade’s stomach tighten. He could feel cold sweat prickling at the back of his neck.

After leaving the estate and returning to his place, Wade’s expression turned dark and heavy.

The moment he stepped inside, his wife, Leigh Curran, hurried over to greet him. “Honey, you’re home! How did the meeting go today?”

Wade’s face was grim. “That brat Jeremy is really looking for Dr. Ace! If he finds that doctor, our entire plan is doomed.”

Leigh’s face went pale. “What? That miracle doctor everyone’s been talking about?”
