“Amelia was the one who saved you, but Gianna stayed right next to you the whole time and didn’t leave at all.”
“Yeah, everyone was so worried. Gianna cried so much her eyes were all swollen.”
Hearing this, Ursula immediately understood what had happened. She warmly held Amelia’s hand and said, “Amelia, thank you. I’m sorry I overlooked you before.”
Even though she was old, Ursula’s mind was still clear.
She knew exactly who had saved her when it counted.
She turned to Gianna then. Her face was still kind, but her voice carried a cooler edge. “Gianna, I appreciate what you did.”
Gianna’s stomach dropped. She’d thought all her effort would make Ursula appreciate her more, but Amelia got all the credit instead.
Biting her lip, she forced a smile. “Grandma, Amelia’s the one with real medical skills. All I did was stay by your side. That’s the least I could do.”
Amelia couldn’t help but smile at Gianna’s fake humility.
She patted Ursula’s hand lightly. “Grandma, just focus on resting. Don’t worry about anything else.”
Ursula nodded, eyes soft with relief. “Amelia, I won’t let anyone wrong you again.”
Raymond and Emery shifted uncomfortably when they heard this.
They had always favored Gianna, but when it mattered, it was Amelia who saved Ursula.
Gianna’s eyes flashed, and she suddenly said, “Grandma, you were poisoned this time–it might have been something you ate. You should be careful of what you eat in the future.”
She shot a look at the family doctor as she spoke.
“That’s true. Especially with tonics–every medicine has its risks if you don’t know where it came from.”
The doctor had admired Amelia’s skills earlier, but he clearly didn’t like unverified remedies.
Amelia immediately caught on. Gianna was trying to stir up trouble, maybe even pin this on
her.

She let out a short, cold laugh. “That medicine was from me. You can send it to any hospital lab if you want.”
She openly handed the medicine to the doctor, leaving no opening for more accusations.
Gianna’s face tightened at being shut down, but she couldn’t throw a fit here, so she kept it in.
“I believe my biological granddaughter wouldn’t harm me. I’m tired now–I’d like to rest. You all can leave. Amelia, stay with me.”
The words “biological granddaughter” hit Gianna like a slap. I’m a Nygard too! I’m her granddaughter as well!
One day, I’ll make that old hag regret this.
After everyone left, Amelia stayed, talking with Ursula and reminding her to keep taking the tonic.
Some things weren’t a servant’s place to ask about.

Amelia hurried back to her workspace and used special tools and methods to test it.
Within an hour, she confirmed the bone broth had been poisoned.
“This isn’t something you can just buy anywhere. Gianna’s really vicious,” Amelia muttered, eyes flashing cold.
It was a rare poison made from herbs of the Western lands. It didn’t kill right away, but worked slowly and cruelly.
It quietly ate away at the body’s core functions until, by the time symptoms showed, it would be
too late.
Gianna used this on Grandma. What could have driven her to do something like this?
