Now that the stairwell doors were wired, they were more than enough. Natalie wasn't going to let anyone into her apartment that easily.
Other than Leandro and Vincent—who were already dead—no one knew her front door actually had two layers.
Harold looked honest enough, but after living through all this once already, Natalie wasn't about to trust anyone so quickly.
Harold scratched his head. "Then I'll head back. Thanks for the snacks."
Natalie nodded and watched him walk upstairs.
Halfway up, Harold suddenly turned back. His face was serious. "Idol, if you ever need help, just call me!"
Natalie gave him a small nod, her expression softer than before, and watched as he left with a spring in his step.
She tested the newly wired door and found it worked perfectly. If anyone came to bother her, she could shock them first, then shoot straight through the hole—no need to even step outside. That was pretty nice.
The moment Harold stepped into his apartment on the 15th floor, a loud voice rang out.
"Well? Did you get beat up out there, you brat?"
"Mom! My idol is a sweet, pretty girl, not some scary woman!" Harold shouted back.
Ghania grinned. "Wow, she's already got you hooked, huh?"
Harold handed her the bags of snacks. "What's for lunch? I'm starving."
"Hmph. Out there you serve people like a gentleman, but in here you expect me to serve you? You'll eat what I cook, don't ask questions!"
Even as she scolded him, she was already ripping the bags open.
"Wow!" Her eyes lit up.
She pulled out a pack of macadamia nuts and finally smiled.
"That girl downstairs gave you these?"
She tore the package open and popped a handful into her mouth.
She had been craving snacks for a long time.
Sure, they had plenty of dry food stored, so they weren't in danger of starving. But eating nothing but hardtack crackers and pasta every day was miserable.
These little treats with different flavors were a blessing.
"Harold, keep an eye on her. If she needs help, go help her," Ghania said.
Harold sighed. A minute ago she was warning him that getting too close would get his legs broken.

At Greenhaven Mountain, in the hillside villas halfway up the slope, a man in a suit hurried into the largest one at the top.
He climbed the spiral staircase and entered the gym on the second floor.
The suited man swallowed hard. Mr. Holland was so striking, it never got old just looking at him.
