When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 1109

Lemira looked up and met those eyes.

He must have been referring to when she mentioned being envious of Stella having a bodyguard-slash-part-time-boyfriend who could cook.

Although their relationship wasn't officially public yet, Lemira figured it was pretty much a done deal.

But to think Orion would actually go out of his way to learn how to cook?

That was genuinely a bit surprising.

Orion pinched her cheek. "What, you don't think I can do it?"

"That's not it. But you're so busy normally; wouldn't cooking be a waste of your time?"

Lemira had worked at Maple Group for a while, so she knew firsthand that when work got hectic, there truly was no time for chores like this.

She was perfectly fine with eating takeout and didn't mind it at all.

Orion turned back around. "Go wait at the table."

Seeing that he was ignoring her, Lemira simply walked over to the dining table and waited. The truth was, she knew how to cook.

In the past, to win the favor of Lemira's brothers, she had specifically studied each of their culinary preferences.

But in the end, it was all a waste of effort.

Before long, a Western-style breakfast was placed in front of Lemira.

Orion probably couldn't handle making anything too complicated for breakfast yet.

Orion felt a slight sense of defeat; cooking wasn't as simple as he had imagined. It was just like running a lab experiment—there were many details to pay attention to.

But as long as he put in the time, it wouldn't be an issue.

Lemira took a bite of the fried egg. "The taste is actually pretty good."

Orion sat down as well, his tone carrying a hint of arrogance. "I told you it wasn't that hard."

Lemira smiled. This guy was actually getting smug about it.

After finishing their meal, Orion asked, "Are you free to go back today?"

"Yes, it happens to be the weekend, so I don't have classes."
