The Langston family had been completely outmaneuvered, and in the end, their home was shattered and their family destroyed.
After their conversation ended, a heavy silence fell on both ends of the line.
The man finally spoke: “It’s getting late. You should get some rest.”
“Alright.”
Lemira responded, then hung up the phone.
She glanced at their chat history, and for a moment, it felt as if she were back in Lyria, as though none of the recent turmoil had ever happened.
Maybe, for now, this really was the best way for them to get along.
Lemira tucked the signed documents under her pillow, finally ready for a good night’s sleep.
At least she would sleep well tonight.
But as for some others, she doubted they’d be so lucky. They’d probably be too angry to get a wink of sleep.
The next morning, Lemira woke up feeling refreshed and headed downstairs for breakfast.
As she passed by a room in the hallway, she heard Evelina crying, still clearly dissatisfied.
“Lemira, stop right there!”
Evander, quick to spot her, hurriedly wheeled himself out and called after her. “I need to talk to you about something.”
“I’m not interested.”
Lemira flatly refused and went downstairs to eat.
Not long after, Evander came down with a tearful Evelina. He looked directly at Lemira and said, “Sell this villa to me.”
“How much are you offering?”
Evander replied confidently, “I know you bought this villa for five million. How about I give you double that?”
Lemira burst out laughing. “This place is worth fifty million now, and its value is only going to keep going up.”
Besides, this was a famously wealthy neighborhood, home to celebrities and the city’s elite.
Villas here were highly sought after and extremely rare.

Evelina’s tone was dripping with jealousy. “Besides, you could help your own family out in the future.”
“My own family? You can barely keep your eyes off Orion. With your scheming, who’d want to call you family?”

If Lemira hadn’t exposed her and Evander’s secret at the party, Dorian Draven wouldn’t have dumped her.
Otherwise, she could have married into the prestigious Draven family and been just as well off as Lemira!
Evander puffed up and insisted, “Lemira, I’m telling you, whether you want to or not, you’re selling this villa today!”
“And why’s that?”
“Because I’m your brother, and she’s your sister-in-law!”
Lemira rolled her eyes so hard they nearly disappeared. “Oh, please. Have you no shame?”

Evander’s face turned green with anger.
