When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 798

Could it be that the Sinclair family already knows?

Lemira pondered for a moment, then quickly messaged Orion: "Are you there? I need to tell you something. Susanna came to see me—she thinks I’m connected to Mrs. Amelia's disappearance."

Orion called her almost instantly, but Lemira declined the call.

She texted back: "I'm in the classroom. Susanna is right behind me watching—it's not safe to talk."

"I haven’t leaked anything to the Sinclair family, but there’s a good chance they've now connected the incident from back then to your family, which is likely why they’re suspecting you."

"But even if they suspect the Langston family, shouldn't Asher be the one they confront? Besides, the Langston family were the victims here—why would Susanna come after me directly?"

After sending that, a realization hit Lemira.

Unless someone told Susanna about it.

Most likely Evelina—as the "two-faced" girl had also overheard Asher talking about Mrs. Amelia’s disappearance.

Evelina must have tipped off Susanna purposely to stir up trouble for her.

After reading Lemira’s message, Orion paused before replying: "That’s entirely possible."

"Susanna probably already told Sophia. They’ll likely confront me after class."

"I’ll come over now."

Seeing this, Lemira quickly replied: "No, don’t. I can handle it myself. You coming over would just look even more suspicious, don’t you think?"

Besides, she wanted to use this chance to see just how much Sophia knew.

Maybe Mrs. Amelia was still hiding something, but Sophia would know.

Finally, Orion conceded to Lemira’s insistence: "Let me know if you need anything."

"Will do."

Lemira began thinking about how to probe for information when Sophia showed up.

Lemira didn’t bother with small talk or niceties.

Sophia’s eyes were complicated as she looked at Lemira. In truth, she hadn’t really considered Lemira a suspect.

After all, Sophia believed that the Langston family would never have the nerve to go up against the Sinclairs.

But what if Lemira knew that the Sinclairs were connected to the car accident back then?

Then, things would be different.

Sophia had even called her father on her way here, trying to find out whether the Langston family knew about the crash.

But her father wasn’t sure either.

Sophia pressed her lips together. "Lemira, you’ve always seemed hostile toward the Sinclairs. You and Susanna didn’t get along from day one this year. Can I ask why?"

Did Lemira know something?
