When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 885

Lemira clicked her tongue as she watched the scene unfold.

The romantic tension between them was absolutely palpable!

Janice stared wide-eyed, turning to Lemira. "Why do I get the feeling there's way more going on between those two?"

"There definitely is. They have history."

Janice gasped, "Spill! You have to tell me everything!"

"Now isn't the best time. I'll give you the full rundown later."

Janice nodded, knowing the timing was off with the obnoxious Asher still standing right there.

After being shoved back, Asher glared at the man who had his arms wrapped securely around Stella. Fury flashed in his eyes as he stepped forward. "What the hell are you doing? Let her go right now!"

Caleb shot Asher a cold, indifferent glare, not treating him as a threat in the slightest.

He looked down at Stella. "Are you going back to your dorm, or did you want to go somewhere else?"

Stella felt a shiver run down her spine at the sound of his deep, gravelly voice by her ear. The intense heat radiating from his body was completely messing with her head.

Yet, hearing the professional distance in his tone brought a sharp pang of disappointment.

If Asher hadn't physically grabbed her, Caleb probably wouldn't have even moved. He had made it perfectly clear he was only here to do a job, acting strictly as a bodyguard.

Stella's voice dropped softly. "I'm just going back to the dorm."

She had nowhere else to go off-campus anyway.

She might as well just stay in her room.

Asher, however, refused to back down. He glared at Stella. "Who is this guy? Is this why you refuse to get back together with me? Have you been messing around with someone else this whole time?"

Stella flared with anger at the accusation. "Do you think everyone is as manipulative as you? He's my bodyguard."

With her physical disability, what other man would ever genuinely want her?

At the very least, he could keep her safe. And once the business recovered, he would return every cent he took from her.

Asher genuinely believed he was a saint compared to other men.

Lemira couldn't stomach it for another second. She stormed over. "Stop flattering yourself. Do you really think Stella has no other options?"

Stella let out a silent sigh of relief the moment Lemira appeared.

Lemira glared daggers at her brother. "You think these pathetic, cheap romantic gestures will just magically make a girl swoon, don't you?"

"It proves that I'm completely sincere about getting back together."

"Your sincerity isn't worth a dime. If you were actually sincere, you wouldn't have conspired with her aunt to lock her in a house and force her to sign the Waverly Trust transfer!"

Asher's face immediately drained of color. "Lemira, what the hell are you babbling about?"
