When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 899

Lemira snorted. "What's the rush? As long as I throw enough cash around, she'll come running."

Asher's jaw twitched, but he kept his mouth shut.

Evander, however, glared at Lemira. "If it wasn't for you, she never would have been forced to run away!"

Since they were the ones who found her here, it meant she had fled on her own and hadn't been kidnapped by the Sinclair family.

Lemira shot him a pitying look. "You should be asking yourself why a woman carrying your child chose to flee to a nightclub rather than rely on you!"

"Because you never stopped bullying her!"

Truthfully, Evander was mortified. The mother of his child was working as a hostess!

It was utterly infuriating.

Stella couldn't take the stupidity anymore. "I seriously don't know what's wrong with your family's brains. You're still defending her."

Evander opened his mouth to snap back, but Asher cut him off. "Evander, shut your mouth!"

"Asher, did you not hear her insult me?"

"She's right. We were blind to trust Evelina. It's because of her that our family is broken."

Asher looked at Lemira with profound complexity. If only she would just lower her head and come back to him.

Lately, he had felt the crushing weight of being cornered in the corporate world.

He had banked on securing Stella's assets to weather the storm, only to be played for a fool.

If Lemira would just forgive him, he could secure the Everhart family's backing.

He turned to Stella. "I know about the fake contract now. Did you really trust me that little?"

If he had just gotten that money, he wouldn't be in this desperate situation.

Stella's face turned to stone. "It's my money. Why should I give it to you? Are you really trying to live off a woman?"

Asher choked. He knew he had crossed a line, but he refused to admit he was trying to leech off her wealth.

The VIP booth was practically vibrating with pulsing club lights, yet the atmosphere felt as grim as a morgue.

A moment later, a knock broke the tension. "Apologies for the wait, VIPs. Our Princess Evie is here."

Lemira smiled sharply. "Ah, the illustrious Princess."

She glanced at Asher, her eyes gleaming with unfiltered mockery.

He looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole. "I should have listened to Lucian and left her in Lyria. We wouldn't be dealing with this catastrophic embarrassment."

Lucian merely sighed heavily.

'Princess Evie' was her old streaming persona. To think she was brazenly using it to sell herself here.

Seeing the brothers' faces twist in absolute agony put Lemira in an exceptionally good mood.

A sickly sweet, overly seductive voice drifted through the door. "I'm so sorry to keep my VIPs waiting."

The door swung wide. A long, bare leg stepped through first, clad in a scandalous, crimson burlesque outfit.
