Who Let Him Play Yu-Gi-Oh! novel Chapter 1060

"My turn! Draw!"

Goodwin drew again, his black eyes flashing like knives as he spoke coldly.

"This turn, you'll understand that losing to me, losing to the greatest god's power, is your fate! I activate Spell Card – Monster Reborn, to revive any monster from the graveyard to the field. I choose this one."

He drew a monster from his grave and slammed it onto his duel disk.

"I Special Summon 'Oracle of the Sun' from the graveyard!"

The Oracle, used as Synchro Material at the start of the duel, was resurrected by the massive Monster Reborn sigil now swirling midair.

[Oracle of the Sun | ATK 1000]

"At this moment, I activate my set Trap, 'Call of the Reaper'! This Trap can only be activated if a monster is Special Summoned from my graveyard. I select 'Fire Ant Ascator' in the grave and Special Summon it!"

His grave ejected a card.

"I revive 'Fire Ant Ascator'!"

[Fire Ant Ascator | ATK 700]

"Two new monsters, and you haven't even used your Normal Summon." Kira smiled knowingly. "Is it coming?"

Goodwin shouted: "I tribute 'Fire Ant Ascator' and 'Oracle of the Sun' to Advance Summon! Summon supreme power and destroy all things—

—Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca!!!"

As soon as he placed the card, thunder boomed outside, and burning violet fire twisted into otherworldly totems in the sky, tracing lines like burning Nazca Lines—like city streets cut into sacrificial altars of flesh.

A giant stone heart formed midair, its tangled veins glowing dark red with every pulse that seemed to shatter every window within a hundred meters. Distracted civilians in nearby blocks had their souls yanked out, slivers of silver light flooding into the stone heart's arteries amid sharp shrieks.

Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca descended!

[Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca | ATK 1] (Anime card)

This Nazca-line vulture god was the most powerful of all the anime Earthbound Immortals. Its very coming absorbs all surrounding souls for blood sacrifice—worse than even the three Evil Gods.

As for its strength—well, the fact that it has 1 ATK says it all.

Of course, if you defeat the Earthbound Immortal in a duel, all the absorbed souls return to normal.

Kira said: "I activate 'Absolute King Back Jack's' effect from my grave. During the opponent's turn, I can banish it to reveal my top deck card; if it's a normal Trap, I set it; if not, it goes to the grave."

Goodwin: "You arranged the top three cards with your effect last turn; obviously, the next is a Trap."

"Correct." Kira grinned, setting the drawn card.

Goodwin was unmoved, sneering, "Ha, so that's the point. Adjust the deck, set a Trap, and when your offensive play failed, now you've lined up your last line of defense? Not only are set Traps normally unusable the turn they're set, but even if you could use it—Traps don't work on Earthbound Immortals!"

Goodwin laughed heartily.

"Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca is unaffected by all Spell and Trap effects! And, once per turn, Wiraqocha Rasca can set your opponent's LP directly to 1!" (Anime effect)

No matter your actual LP, it all gets set to 1. That's why Rasca is the "strongest Earthbound Immortal"—and one of the rarest, most overpowered effects in all of Yu-Gi-Oh.

(For the record, this effect was removed from its real printed card.)

Also, it sets LP to 1, not inflicts damage—so prevents or reflects to damage effects do nothing.

"Earthbound Immortal effect activates—Absolute Obedience!"

The vulture's colossal wings whipped up a storm of destruction, blasting Kira with light so strong it felt like it could shatter the building.

[Kira LP: 1200 → 1]

"Also, Earthbound Immortal can ignore monsters and attack players directly," Goodwin said with narrowed eyes.

[Wiraqocha Rasca ATK: 1]

A direct attack would end Kira.

But Goodwin paused, noticing Kira remained calm and unbothered—as if he was expecting this.

"Hmph, of course, if Wiraqocha Rasca's effect was used, I can't enter Battle Phase this turn." Goodwin sneered. "But if you think you've bought yourself a turn to cling on, you're too naive! I play Spell Card—

—Hinotama! Deal 500 damage to the opponent!"

Kira raised an eyebrow. "Straightforward, aren't you?"

Hinotama—a simple card: one card for 500 effect damage. Normally useless, but perfect for pairing with Rasca, which leaves the opponent at 1 LP.

"SHINE- (DIE)!!!" Goodwin shouted.

A deadly fireball shot at Kira.

Kira waved his hand: "I activate my set card."

Goodwin started: "Your set card was just set this turn with Absolute King Back Jack's effect. Normally, it—"

"Would be unusable," Kira said smoothly. "But cards set via Absolute King Back Jack can be activated the turn they are set. So I activate Trap Card 'Nature's Reflection'! All effect damage from my opponent this turn is reflected!"

This doesn't work on Rasca's effect, since that sets LP, not deals damage, but it works on Hinotama.

A glowing barrier appeared. The fireball smashed into it and was bounced back at Goodwin.
