“We’ve got a bit of a drive ahead of us. How about we get some snacks before we head off?” I lead my girl down the road to a street full of shops where I notice a small supermarket. Envy looks in awe at all the different shops but I notice one in particular really catch her eye and I stop to see what she’s seeing. A hippy looking shop where a hot hair balloon suncatcher hangs in the window. It’s absolutely perfect and I pull her in without a second thought.

“I thought we were getting snacks.”

“Yeah, of course, can’t have my ma…girlfriend” I correct myself when I see the human lady watching us enter, “getting hungry on the trip. I just need to get a little something here as a reminder of our date.” Her cute little blush spreads across her skin and my stomach flips. I fucking love that shade on her.

After buying an assortment of snacks I call Tommy to bring the car around. He wasn’t too happy with having to drive all this way just to turn around and drive us home, but I think he’s completely forgetting all the lengths he went for my sister when they were newly mated, so he can shut up and drive. I carefully load three whole bags of suncatchers into to boot before opening the back door for my love and getting in after her. It doesn’t take long for her to nod off for a little nap, the adrenaline clearly wearing her out for the day, and I love this quiet moment where I get to hold my sleeping mate in peace. We’ve come a long way in a short amount of time, and I can’t wait to be fully bonded with her for life.

Pretty little mate, Hawk purrs for her while she rests.

When we get back to the packhouse the sun is starting to set and my brothers are keenly waiting outside. Xavier is the first to reach the car, opening the door.

“Such a gentleman for me”, I joke with him, and he scoffs, practically pulling me out to reach our girl who’s laughing as Noah gets to the other side, snatching her out and into a tight hug as he inhales her

scent.

I retrieve the bags as she’s passed around my brothers, telling them about our date as they get their fill of her. I understand. Yesterday Hawk and I were a mess, barely able to concentrate knowing she was so far away from us.

“Alright boys, that’s enough.” Mum says standing in the doorway to the house. “I need to borrow your mate for a dress fitting before dinner.” She shoos us away as we all pout. No matter though, that’ll give me some free time to hang all of these suncatchers around her room as an extra surprise for her.

Mate will love seeing the pretty colours in the morning. She will think of us and how great we are to her. Hawk prances around my mind.

Yeah she will!

“So, how was it?” Levi questions me as he follows me to our girls bedroom,

“It was great! She’s a real thrill seeker.” I smile.

“Can we eat now?” I ask holding out the dress for Aleisha to take.

Mum laughs, “Oh my boys would love your appetite. I’m sure their wolves bask in being able to feed their mate. Yes, we should attend dinner before they come in here to stalk you down. Tomorrow evening we’ll go over some of the customs, rules, rituals and what nots.”

I groan, loudly. “We can do it with wine to make it less torturous for you. How about that?” Aleisha

suggests.

“Mmmm, okay, but I will get you back on the training field.” To which it’s her turn to groan.

“Awww, I always wanted to have another daughter for sister banter.” Mum coos.

“Mummmmmmmm! Time to give our mate back now!” Haiden calls from the closed door.
