“I don’t understand.” She whispers, walking backwards to where I’m standing, and I wrap my arms around her as we both watch the flower slowly bring life back to the waters. I reach to the side of the pool and take another dried flower carefully and hold it out in front of her.
“Try it again.”
“I don’t even know what I did. I was just imagining how the flower would have smelled when it was alive.”
“So, try that again. Picture it, imagine the smell…will it to be.”
She cups her hands over the top of mine, covering the flower and standing with my chest against her back, I can feel a hum of energy. It’s different to the mate bond sparks, because I can feel those too, but this energy, it’s different, powerful…it’s Holy like. The energy hum dies down, and she slowly removes her hands to show another very fruitful-looking lily. I place it into the water, but it doesn’t light up the surrounding water like the other one. Envy leans forward slightly and pushes the lily gently, and as it moves, the water again comes to life. We watch as the two flowers float along the water, leaving a pattern of swirling, bright blue lines throughout the water. She turns to me in my arms with the biggest smile on
her face.
“So…that’s new.”
I laugh a little and kiss her forehead. “Gods, you are something else.”
She pushes off my chest, floating backwards into the waters and just like the flowers, the light follows her. I don’t even register my own body gravitating towards her until she sits up and wraps her arms around my neck, her legs around my waist and pulls herself close to my body. She’s so utterly enchanting that I swear if I don’t kiss her right now, I might just die. So, I lean down slowly, and she meets me halfway, pressing her soft lips against my own. Fireworks and light shows, the sensation of a million tiny strings of electricity flood through my veins. My mate wants me. My mate. I open my eyes when I hear her gasp softly, and the whole cavern is glowing brightly. Shrubs and flowers, vines and moss, everything around us is slowly coming back to life, and my little doll is herself glowing a bright blue hue. The vines covering most of the sun pockets push themselves out of the way, and we’re surrounded by light dancing off the water, just like I once remembered it.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before, doll…”
“Well, that would make two of us.” She inspects her arms where the glow is beginning to fade, and her skin turns back to its normal shade, but nothing around us loses its life. It’s as if she’s resurrected everything around us.
“What…what do we do now?” She asks quietly, and I shrug.
“I guess, for right now…we just enjoy it.” I smile and splash her a little. To which she responds with the biggest splash sent towards my face, making me cough and splutter out the magical water. She laughs

hysterically at her efforts, and I can’t help but laugh with her.
“Oh, it’s on now, doll.” I scoop her up and drag her over to the waterwall while she laughs and pleads for mercy. I show no mercy, laughing triumphantly as I pull us both under the stream and to the underside of it, where the water falls all around us but no longer on us. Her laughter dies down as she wipes the water from her eyes, and I capture her lips once more. A soft, sweet, gentle kiss that I hope conveys everything I’m feeling.
We play amongst the water for a while, laughing and joking, just as I had done once with my brothers, but today is so much different, so much better because it’s with her. My Goddess blessed mate.
“Are you hungry?”
Her stomach growls in response, making me laugh.
“That would be a yes then.” She nods and bites her lip.
“Come on then. Let’s find somewhere special for a picnic.”
“Like…our own place?” She asks, and I didn’t even think of that, but the smile spreads across my face with
