Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 27

But back then, Silvia was already hopelessly lost in Shipley’s gentle embrace, completely deaf to any advice.

“Silvia, I ran into your brother the other day while I was out. He said you’ll be heading back to Capital City in just over twenty days to get married. Is that true?”

On the other end of the line, Yvette’s voice carried a note of curiosity.

“It’s true,” Silvia replied, a bitter smile tugging at her lips.

“It’s been three years—you finally see him for who he is.” Yvette’s tone was calm, almost resigned. “Did he do something unforgivable? Is that why you’re so determined this time?”

“Vianne moved to Luminova City. Now they’re living together under the same roof. He even threw me out,” Silvia said, her smile turning even more bitter.

“What?” Yvette’s voice shot up, shocked. “He actually kicked you out?”

Silvia told her everything, every detail of how it all happened.

Of everyone, Yvette knew their relationship best—after all, she had witnessed every up and down over the past three years.

“It’s always easier to see clearly from the outside,” Yvette sighed into the phone. “I never thought this relationship would end well. Now that you’ve finally decided to break it off, don’t look back. Promise me.”

“I know,” Silvia said, her eyes growing cold and resolute. “After all this, I’ll have one last meal with him, and then it’s over. For good. We’ll be strangers from then on.”

“I’m glad you finally see things straight. When you’re back, your girls will take you out to celebrate your freedom.”

“Thank you, Yvette.”

Silvia gazed absently out the window, her eyes softening a little.
