Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 47

When Silvia left the office, not a single colleague spoke to her.

Their faces were tight with resentment.

Only Vianne gave her a little wave and a bright smile.

Silvia pretended not to notice—she simply walked away.

She wandered the city for a while, and by the time she got home, the sky was already dark.

She had barely sat down to rest when the doorbell rang.

Peeking through the peephole, she saw Kent’s strikingly handsome face. Silvia blinked, then hurried to open the door.

“Mr. Parsons, what brings you here?”

The woman before him had a gentle curve to her eyes and lips, laughter lingering at the corners. Her face was porcelain-pale and perfectly delicate.

Something in Kent’s chest softened unexpectedly, and he found himself smiling, ever so slightly.

His voice, as always, was cool and measured: “I came to help you with your medication.”

Again?

Silvia’s heart gave a twitch, but she went along with it, pulling out a chair and sitting down without protest.

The Kent she remembered had never been so attentive.

On TV, a talk show was playing, filling the living room with the sound of laughter and chatter, warming the space.

Catching her easy smile, Kent’s lips curled into the faintest of grins.

He gently brushed aside her dark hair, taking care as he dabbed ointment onto her skin.

When the show cut to commercials, Kent said, “Tomorrow, come with me somewhere.”

“Alright.”

Silvia felt a quiet gratitude toward Kent and agreed without hesitation.

But recalling their previous awkwardness, she asked, “What’s the occasion? Should I dress up?”
