Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 77

What she once thought was love—now it was nothing but a humiliating mess.

Utterly revolting.

Silvia could only laugh at herself, bitterness swelling in her chest as she spat out, “Shipley, loving you is the biggest disgrace of my life.”

She had no patience left for his pathetic excuses. Without another word, she hung up, blocked his number with practiced ease, and tossed her phone aside.

On the other end, Shipley stared at the darkened screen, eyes lowered, a slow, chilly smile curling at his lips.

He didn’t need to try calling again to know—the number was blocked, of course.

Setting his phone aside, his amusement thinned, taking on a frosty edge.

Loving him—a disgrace? How absurd.

Sweet Silvia was still the same.

When she lost her temper, she’d say anything that came to mind, never meaning half of it.

The next moment, Shipley hurled a stack of files onto the floor, his brow furrowing, every trace of his smile wiped clean.

Just outside his half-closed office door, a figure stood stiffly, hatred flickering in her eyes.

When the noise from the office finally faded, Vianne slipped away from the company and headed straight home.

Suddenly she remembered—she still had something hidden in her room.

She had to destroy it.

Shipley could never find out.

As soon as she stepped through the door, she heard a clatter from the master bedroom upstairs. Pushing aside her thoughts, Vianne stormed up the stairs.

She stopped outside the bedroom, spotting Tessa bent over, cleaning. Vianne’s brow knotted, her gaze darkening with a venom she could no longer hide.

The small jewelry box Vianne had left on the desk had been moved onto a stool by Tessa. Vianne’s eyes flashed; she lunged forward and slapped Tessa hard across the face.

Not finished, she swept a furious arm across the newly tidied vanity, sending cosmetics shattering to the floor.
