Chapter 328

Nyla had expected Harrison to support her, but instead, he sided with the Sumners.

After a while, she slowly lifted her head and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. Her gaze hardened with determination. She was resoluteshe would leave Saintornia.

Not long after Nyla returned home, the doorbell rang. Seeing Gabriel outside, she didn’t open the door. Instead, she told him coldly to leave.

Gabriel stood at the door for a moment. When it became clear Nyla had no intention of letting him in, he said softly, Nyla, we’ll talk when you’ve calmed down.

Nyla felt there was nothing left to discuss and had no desire to engage. She remained silent.

Gabriel stared at the closed door, sighed, and then turned to leave.

In the days that followed, Nyla’s life resumed its familiar rhythmworking and studying at home.

Gabriel tried reaching out several times, but her cold demeanor discouraged him from pushing further.

A week later, Nyla received a call from Valarie, inviting her to her birthday party.

Valarie’s father, the CEO of the Weir Group, always made sure her birthday was a grand affair.

Of course, I’ll be there on time,Nyla assured her. Do you have any gift preferences?

Whatever you like! I love everything you give me,Valarie replied with a laugh.

Alright. I’ll go shopping in the next few days,Nyla said.

After the call, Nyla contemplated what to get Valarie. Last year, she had given her a luxury handbag. Perhaps this year, a dress would be a good choice.

The next day, after work, Nyla headed straight to the mall.

After browsing for over an hour, she finally found a dress she liked. Just as she was about to ask the sales associate to wrap it up, a sharp voice cut through the air behind her.

Nyla, I didn’t expect to see you here!

She turned to find Jordyn standing a short distance away, her eyes filled with hostility.

Nyla had no interest in engaging. She turned back to the sales associate. Please wrap the dress.

Just as the sales associate was about to pick up the dress, Jordyn swiftly walked over and snatched it away. I like this dress too. I’ll buy it. Just charge it to my card.

She handed both the dress and her card to the sales associate with an air of arrogance.

The sales associate frowned slightly and said, Miss, this dress was chosen by Ms. Jayston first. Perhaps you’d like to browse our other selections? We have many beautiful options.

Jordyn scoffed. I want this one. It doesn’t matter who picked it first. It’s in my hands now, so it’s mine.
