"What took you so long?" Jack asked me when I returned to my seat.

"Uhm... Cali asked me to tell her a short story, so I took a few more minutes inside." I replied with a smile. I chose to form a story and lied to her about what happened because I don't know what she will do if she happened to know that the bitch Cherry Petterson cornered me inside the ladies room.

"Wow! And you did it while you're inside the cubicle?"

"Yup, I don't see anything wrong with it." I shrugged and nodded. I guess she bites it, but I frowned when she suddenly let out an annoyed sigh. "Why, what was that sigh for?" And then I turned to Paul who was just smiling across my seat. "What happened, Paul? What did you do?"

"Oops! It's not me, I didn't do anything to her." He said shaking his head.

"Haist, so what really happened here?" I asked, my eyes were moving from Jack to Paul.

"Uhm... just ask her." Paul shrugged off his shoulders and stood up. "I'll go get something to drink for us." And when he's finally a few steps away from our table, that's when I asked Jack again.

"What really happened here, Jackeline? I was just gone for a few minutes."

"Agh!" She sighed. "Your asshole brother came to this table while you were inside the ladies room!"

"Ohh..." I said and then suddenly giggled at her. Honestly, I think I don't have to ask her what happened because, based on her facial expression, I'm sure my brother has been bothering her again... knowing how annoying my brother is.

Well, this party belongs to one of their college's colleagues, so I don't have to ask why Luke was also here and of course, Dale. Then I remembered what he had told me earlier before we left the house.

-'Ahh, so the party we had just attended was the same. Hmm... okay, I get it.'- I said to myself, nodding as I watched her frown next to my seat.

Fifteen minutes have passed before Paul came back to our table and it's exactly my phone vibrated inside my pouch.

"I'm sorry, it took me a while to get back, I was just cornered by some of my old friends."

"It's okay, I was also wondering why you chose to stay with us rather than spending time with your friends," Jack said as she accepted the glass of wine.

"Ahm... it's because I can always find time to talk to them whenever I want even without occasions like this, but spending time with you girls, especially you is a very rare moment, so I'd choose to stay with you until the party is over."

"O-M-G! You're so corny." Jack exclaimed, rolling her eyes at him.

"Uhm, excuse me guys, I just have to take this call, it's from Cali." I got up, waving my phone in the air.

"Whoa! Your little girl missed you that instant? But you just called her a few minutes ago, right?" Paul asked, confused.

"Well, the truth is that she's a mama's girl." Jack winked at me. "Go ahead, take that call and please say goodnight to my little munchkin."

"I will." I nodded before turning around to find a somewhere quiet place.

"Munchkin?" I heard Paul asked Jack the moment I turned around.

"Yup, that's what I've often called our little girl."

"Whoa! Unbelievable---munchkin? Why don't you just call her a pumpkin?"

"Hahaha--- Shut up!"

I couldn't help but laugh at the two before heading my way outside the venue. They were so cute. I can imagine Jack's facial reaction when she laughed and then suddenly screamed 'shut up'.

* * *

My feet took me to a garden where there were only a few guests and some of them were there to take their second vitamin in life--- cigarettes. 'Cigarette smoking is dangerous to their health, but they seem not afraid of it.'

"Hi, mommy, I just want to say good night and please take care when you get home."

"Ahh... my baby is so sweet. Don't worry about me, honey, me and Untie Jack will make sure to get home safe and sound, but for now, I think you should go to sleep because it's getting late, okay?"

"Okay, good night, mommy."

"Goodnight my baby."

"I love you."

"I love you more, muahh." I even kissed the screen before ending the call.

"Is that Cali?"

"Huh?" I almost jumped into my seat as I was shocked when Luke suddenly appeared in front of me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He said taking a step closer to me.

I sighed and then looked at him as I shake my head to calm my nerves.

"Tss! Why are you here? Did you follow me to confirm what your girlfriend told you about me?"

"What?" He seemed confused, but I hissed again.

"You know what, actually, I was about to believe your stunned expression, but seeing you a few minutes after your girlfriend cornered me in the bathroom, I changed my mind."

I was about to turn around but he immediately blocked my way.

"Wait! What do you mean Cherry cornered you at the bathroom? I didn't know about that."

Painting a sarcastic smile on my lips, I stared at him for a few seconds before rolling my eyes.

"What did she tell you?"

"Why don't you just ask her?"
