Olivia was delighted today. Not because she was beaten up, but because she met Cameron the day before. His innocent expression always makes her smile. Of course, she cannot support him, but she can be a better and stronger person for him. He is the only person she has left who is of her own blood.
She went downstairs and sat with the Knights' family with great enthusiasm. “You look happy now, and you have done a good job hiding your bruise,” Ella said.
“Yes, I suppose you are correct. I feel better now, and I don't want people to know how clumsy I am.” She told her this while nervously laughing.
“Are you going somewhere?” David inquired.
“Uh, yeah, I am just going for a walk or something. To get some fresh air.” Olivia tried to reason. She didn't want to tell them the truth.
“Well, that will be good for you,” David said, smiling.
“I hope so.” She quickly ate some toast and drank some orange juice before leaving.
She does not want them to question her about her eating habits again. However, there is a reason she can't eat too much. Her body has become accustomed to eating less for many years, and it will take time for her to increase her appetite.
In any case, she couldn't be late now. She had been walking for 15 minutes when she arrived at her destination. When she opened the door, her favourite old lady greeted her.
“Hello, Grams.” Olivia smiled and greeted her.
“Livy dear?” She said, surprised.
“It's great to see you again after such a long time.” She approached Olivia and hugged her tightly. She sat with her for a while and chatted with her.
Grace, the owner of the library where Olivia is sitting, is her name. Olivia's mother used to take her to this library when she was a child, and she loved it. Grace used to treat her as if she was her own granddaughter, so she began referring to her as grams. Olivia told her about her parents' situation. Not the events of the previous four years, but the reason she returned here and asked if she could work here.
Even though Olivia has a substantial amount of money in her account as an inheritance, but she refuses to spend it. She doesn't want to rely on it, and she especially doesn't want to burden Ella and David with it. She already owes them a great deal. And, to be honest, all the money in her bank account is for Cameron, her little angel. He will be able to use it once he's grown up. She is already irreparably damaged, and the money will be a waste if spent on her. Cameron deserves to have it.
Olivia was ecstatic to learn that she has a part-time job here, but it will not begin until next week. Her shift will be after school at 4 p.m. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. She is also free to work extra hours if she so desires. And she undoubtedly will be spending a lot of time here. Perhaps seven days a week. She isn't bothered by it. It's the best way for her to get away. She does not wish to remain free. It's the only way she can get away from her demons. She just needs to finish high school, and she will be out of here. She only needs to wait until she reaches the age of 18, at which point she will be able to leave Knights and Rosewood for good.
Olivia ended up staying there for a few more hours, and it was soon 5 o'clock. She and Grams ate lunch together, and she ate little as usual. However, because the good old lady was insistent, she had to make an excuse for eating a large breakfast. Olivia quickly left and returned to see Cameron. She was glad to see him. She had spent around an hour with him.
Cameron's house and the library are only a half-hour drive away. Olivia arrived at the Knight's house at nearly eight o'clock. They were very interested in where she went. She did text Ella that she wouldn't be able to eat lunch at their house because she was out. However, she also mentioned that she ran into an old friend on the way who insisted on spending some time with her. Olivia was still hesitant to tell them about her job, so she kept her mouth shut.
During dinner, Ella and David informed Olivia that they would have to go to New York for three days on business. David, as a doctor, had to attend a medical conference, whereas Ella, as a well-known fashion designer, had to attend a fashion show. That means she will have to spend three days alone with Caleb.
Do you want to know what the worst part is? They had to leave immediately. Olivia dashed to her room after saying her goodbyes. Caleb barged into her room in less than a minute. He had an angry expression on his face.
