In fact, Cynthia was thinking the same thing and even felt a little fortunate. Many recent events had nearly caused her to fall for him. She had been out of her mind and wanted to confess her love. The next day, Cynthia and Freddie went to Betrico City Broadcasting again. As expected, they met Whitney. Only Cynthia and Whitney were inside the spacious conference room. 

“Cynthia, I’m somewhat disappointed in what you did yesterday Whitney said. She dressed professionally and elegantly, sitting on a leather office chair and looking at Cynthia with an oppressive aura. 

Cynthia replied respectfully. “What did you expect to see, Ms. Bennett? Was it that I called myself Jonathan’s girlfriend and argued with Ms. Sullivan, or that Ms. Sullivan had an asthma attack due to the lilies and was sent to the hospital?” 

Whitney smiled. Her eyes seemed filled with admiration as she said, “You truly impress me, Cynthia. I like you better than Nina. Maybe you’re the one who can marry into our family.” 

Cynthia replied, “I don’t dare think about that, Ms. Bennett. I know you’re saying this to use me as a pawn again. You don’t Like Nina and want to use me to separate Jonathan from her. But I’m sorry, I don’t want to be your pawn.” 

Whitney’s gaze became sharp as she remarked, “You should know many people want to be my pawn.” 

Cynthia replied, “I know, but I’m not interested.” 

Whitney said, “But my only brother chose you. I didn’t realize you had been together for over three years.” 

Cynthia thought, ‘My study visit to Betrico was actually arranged by Whitney. It turns out she’s been secretly interfering in my life! Cynthia fixed her gaze on Whitney, feeling that her aura was terrifying. 

“Mr. Bennett and 1 are just having a fling. We’re using each other, and we just want to be happy. There’s no love between. It’s a waste of time if you want to use me. Besides, Mr. Bennett and I broke up last night, Cynthia said with a smile. 

Whitney looked at Cynthia admiringly and said, “I like your personality very much, but I don’t like to force people. If you change your mind and want to join the game one day, you’re welcome to find me.” 

“I don’t think that day will ever come,” Cynthia replied bluntly and left. 

Whitney looked at Cynthia’s back and smiled meaningfully. Then she picked up her phone and dialed a number. “Have you made the draft acquisition agreement for RNN?” she asked.

In the afternoon, Cynthia asked Freddie for a leave of absence. She wanted nothing to do with Whitney and would not go to BCB for the next two days. 

Fortunately, Naomi kept Cynthia company for the next two days. The two of them went to Royal Club for a drink. It was of the most luxurious clubs in Betrico. Naomi said she would find some handsome models for Cynthia.
