Cynthia, despite the storm in her heart, didn’t show it. After a moment of silence, she asked, “Can I have a room here?” 

Rachel was stunned for a moment, then her face lit up with joy. She said, “Of course, of course, I’ll get a room ready for you right away.” 

The unit had three bedrooms: the master bedroom, one for Shirley, and another guest room. 

Rachel quickly cleaned it up and said, “Ms. Jones, from now on, this room will be yours. Come over anytime you want me to cook for you.” 

Cynthia nodded and said, “Thank you” 

After leaving Splendid Garden, Cynthia received a call from Justin. He said, “Cynthia, come home for dinner tonight. Your mother really misses you. I’ve asked Julia to make your favorite blueberry custard tart. It’s been a long time since we last saw 

you.” 

It was the first time Justin had called her since she severed ties with the Jones family. His voice was gentle, even a bit pleading. 

However, Cynthia’s voice was unexpectedly calm. She replied, “Mr. Jones, we are no longer related. Please don’t call me again.” 

Justin said, “Cynthia, why are you so stubborn? It happened so long ago. I know I wronged you on your birthday, but is that enough reason to sever ties with us? You were raised with all our love. Think about it. How did we treat you all these years? Can’t parents make a single mistake?” 

He added, “Besides, we didn’t adopt Lilian as our goddaughter, and Shirley even apologized to you. What more do you want? Don’t be willful Come home tonight. I have something to tell you.” 

Cynthia hung up immediately. She could already guess what Justin wanted to say. 

The registration for the Pillere Designer Competition was about to close.
