Chapter 133
Jonathan’s voice was calm. “It’s justa small matter. Talk to Claude about it later.”
“Uncle, you’re the best to me.” Like a child, Preston leaned on Jonathan’s shoulder, acting spoiled.
Jonathan affectionately patted his head.
It was strange. His relationship with Whitney had been terrible for decades, but with Preston, it was different.
Preston was seven years younger than him, only 21 this year.
Whitney had divorced right after Preston was born.
At that time, she went crazy, seeking revenge on Aaron and Yulana, completely neglecting her newborn son.
Preston was handed over to the nanny and left at the Bennett minor. He cried every day, his voice turning hoarse from all the crying.
Nanny after nanny came, but n
none could soothe him.
Then, one day, something strange happened.
Jonathan, only seven or eight years old at the time, picked up baby Preston, who was just one month old.
Preston, who had been wailing moments before, suddenly stopped crying. He even smiled.
From that moment on, their fates became deeply intertwined.
Preston practically grew up following Jonathan around.
From the age of one to five, he was Jonathan’s little shadow.
Though the Bennett manor was full of people, Preston only clung to Jonathan.
When Preston was six and Jonathan thirteen, Whitney suddenly remembered she had a son and that he was already so following Jonathan around all the time. Furious, Whitney did everything she could to convince Clifford to send Jonathan
abroad.
Not long after, Preston was sent abroad as well by Whitney..
Although they didn’t see each other often after that, Preston would always secretly video–call him.
Their relationship remained strong, perhaps even stronger than Preston’s relationship with Whitney,
Whitney was highly controlling of Preston, planning for him to inherit both the Bennett family and the Sullivan family
businesses
Her strictness caused Preston to become somewhat rebellious as he grew up, but Whitney blamed Jonathan for Preston’s defiance, believing Jonathan’s influence was responsible.
To Preston, Jonathan wasn’t just an uncle. He was a brother, a father, a teacher, a role model–the most trusted person in his
life.
As they left LunaSea Club, Jonathan wanted to personally take Preston back home, but Preston refused.
“You’re driving a custom Maybach, one of a kind in the world. Parking it in a rundown neighborhood marked for demolition might raise some suspicion. I’ll just take a cab home Jonathan. Goodbye” Preston waved lightly at him, backpack

Chapter 133
slung over his shoulder
Preston’s smile was bright, and under the streetlights, he seemed to shimmer like gold.
Even Jonathan couldn’t help but sigh, thinking youth really was wonderful.
His own teenage years had been filled with schemes, darkness, plots, and all kinds of manipulation.
But at least Preston’s teenage years were bright, sunny, happy, and carefree–he could even enjoy the beauty of love.
Jonathan knew that Preston’s identity was special..
His future partner likely wouldn’t be someone he chose based on personal feelings.
Most likely, Whitney would arrange a political marriage with a high–society girl who matched their status, wealth, and family background.
But no matter what, Jonathan would do everything in his power to support Preston, as long as the girl he liked wasn’t someone deceitful
When Preston returned to Splendid Garden, he found that Cynthia hadn’t come home.
He waited until nearly midnight, but she still hadn’t returned.
The next morning, Preston noticed that Cynthia’s slippers at the door were still in the same position as the day before.
He realized she hadn’t come back all night.
Preston got up early, and Rachel was already busy in the kitchen.
She had to go sell breakfast at the school gate every day,
Preston offered to help, moving things, pushing the cart, and eventually even joining her in selling breakfast at the school gate. Rachel felt quite embarrassed.
He was a tall, handsome international student, at the age where pride mattered most, but helped her sell breakfast. But Preston didn’t seem to mind at all–he worked swiftly and with a natural confidence.
In fact, his sunny, handsome face attracted quite a crowd.
What normally took three hours to sell out was gone in half an hour.
After that, Preston helped pack up and push the cart back home
Rachel saved some quinoa cakes for Preston,
As they pushed the cart home, Preston munched on it.
Despite doing manual labor, he maintained a clean, calm demeanor, and even the way he ate with such grace caught the attention of passersby.
“Rachel, what’s your relationship with Cynthia?” Preston asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin after finishing his rice ball. He continued to help push the cart and chat with Rachel
Preston was curious about many things regarding Cynthia
Despite clearly having money, she lived in a rundown area like Splendid Garden.
