Chapter 202
“Cynthia! Where are you, Cynthia?” Panic started to edge into Preston’s voice as he anxiously searched every corner of the room but found no trace of Cynthia.
Fear was growing stronger within Preston. He was sure Cynthia Hadn’t left the room; she had been here just three minutes ago. How could she suddenly vanish into thin air?
Preston kept replaying Jonathan’s words in his mind repeatedly. For some reason he couldn’t explain, doubt began to creep in. Once he confirmed Cynthia wasn’t in the room, he dashed out to find Jonathan.
But Jonathan wasn’t in his room either. At that moment, he was on a rooftop, gazing into the distance. Checking his watch, he felt as though a heavy weight was pressing down on his heart
He mused. ‘Did Claude not get my email? I sent one, asking him to go back to Roncrity to bring Mrs. Bennett over. She might be the only one who can get them out of this place.
Jonathan thought, ‘If Claude flew over directly, Whitney might just ask to shoot it down. Plane crash, everyone dead. Only with Mrs. Bennett on board would Whitney hesitate.
“But given the time, Claude should have arrived. Jonathan looked at the distant sea, which was dark and turbulent, as if it concealed countless dangers.
“My silly brother, what are you waiting for?” Whitney’s voice came from behind Jonathan wasn’t very surprised. He calmly turned around and said, “Well, Whitney, you finally decided to see me.”
Whitney chuckled and took a few steps forward, holding a small ornate box. “You gave me this, how could I not come?” she said, opening the box to reveal a human tooth. It was Alex’s.
Back then, Cynthia had knocked out one of Alex’s molars. “Where is he now?” Whitney asked casually, as Jonathan carefully watched her expression.
Ever since he learned Alex was Whitney’s secret lover, Jonathan considered him a card to play. But he wasn’t sure if Whitney would take the bait.
Jonathan said, “He’s in a very safe place right now, one you definitely won’t be able to find.”
“So, what’s your intention in bringing me this specifically?” asked Whitney.
Jonathan replied, “Whitney, I want to make a deal with you for Alex.”
Whitney was straightforward. “Alright, but are you trading Nina or Cynthia?”
Jonathan said with a serious expression, “I want both of them.”
Whitney adjusted her coat on her shoulders. “I never make losing deals; a fair trade is one for one.*
Jonathan’s expression turned completely serious. Whitney turned to him and said, “Ill give you a minute to think about it.” Jonathan instinctively looked up.
Suddenly, Whitney laughed. “Don’t bother looking. Claude isn’t coming, and he can’t find Mrs. Bennett. You don’t have anyone to rescue you. You’re completely alone, like an isolated and in the sea. You can only turn to me for help.”
Jonathan didn’t hesitate, I’m begging you, Whitney, Let them go. They’re both innocent. If you have an issue, deal with me.” Whitney laughed, and in the quiet night, her laughter sounded especially eerie
Whitney said, “To me, they’re part of you. One is a woman you’ve protected since childhood, and you’ll need her backing

support in the future. The other is the love hidden in your heart. Im really curious to see which one you’ll choose when you’re forced to pick just one.”
Jonathan’s fingers clenched tightly, the veins on his arm bulging “I won’t choose.”
Whitney’s voice suddenly turned cold. “If you don’t choose, both of them will die.”

Whitney took out a small remote, pressing it lightly. Suddenly, a hologram appeared in the air.
In the hologram was a private yacht. The camera slowly zoomed in, revealing two figures lying on the deck. It was Cynthia and Nina.
Jonathan’s heart skipped a beat. He walked a few steps forward and finally saw them clearly. They were still in the clothes from earlier today, lying motionless on the deck, looking eerily like two corpses.
Jonathan’s eyes turned red, like an enraged lion ready to burst. “What have you done to them?” Despite all the precautions, it was in vain. Even with Preston watching over Cynthia and never leaving her side, Whitney found an opportunity to exploit a flaw.
Now, Nina and Cynthia were in Whitney’s grasp, like fish on the chopping block, completely at her mercy.
“Don’t worry, they’re not dead,” Whitney said, her eyes also on the yacht. It rocked back and forth on the vast, deep sea, as if it could be swallowed at any moment.
Whitney said, “You need to make a choice quickly; the typhoon is coming tonight. If you hesitate too long, even if you decide, I might not be able to bring them back alive”
