Jonathan was completely unaware of today’s events. Until the video was leaked, he thought he was attending a typical jewelry exhibition tonight. 

Shirley had no clue about the murder video involving her. From the conversation between Cynthia and Simon, Jonathan could deduce that the two of them planned everything that happened today. 

Cynthia wanted to expose Shirley in front of everyone completely and ruin her reputation. Cynthia had been planning everything for a long time. 

However, what puzzled Jonathan was why he, as her husband, was the last to know about it, while Simon got to be involved. A twinge of jealousy was already bubbling up in Jonathan’s heart 

But on the surface, he maintained a warm smile that made people feel like they were basking in spring sunshine. He moved closer to Cynthia and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

They all visited with specific goals. When Jonathan arrived, Simon was about to leave. They passed each other on the stairs.

Simon shifted his gaze away from Cynthia and his attitude instantly became indifferent. He politely shook hands with Jonathan and said, “She’s important to me, and protecting her is my lifelong duty, so there’s no need to thank me.” 

Cynthia watched as the two men shook hands. Although they both had slight smiles, their eyes were cold. 

For some reason, Cynthia felt the atmosphere between these two men was odd. There was a subtle tension in the air. 

Meanwhile, Simon’s secretary came over, holding a brocade box in his hand. 

“Mr. Wright, what should we do with this jewelry?” 

The assistant was holding the “Queen’s Tears“, which was meant for Shirley but wasn’t given to her. Whitney left hurriedly and seemed to have forgotten about it. 

Simon said, “Since Whitney already won the bid, the jewelry belongs to her. I’ll send someone to deliver it to her tomorrow.” 

Simon said this for Cynthia to hear. Cynthia frowned slightly and said, “Simon, give me the jewelry. I’ll take it to her myself 

tomorrow.”

The box was handed to Cynthia. The secretary glanced at Simon’s expression and suddenly said, “Ms. Jones, Mr. Wright got you your favorite almond pudding. Do you want some?” 

Cynthia was hungry. She hadn’t eaten anything during the evening break. Over at the buffet and dessert area, the staff were beginning to clean up. 

Cynthia turned to look at Jonathan, Jonathan had a gentle expression and said, “Go get some food. I want to have a chat with 

Simon.” 

Even though Cynthia thought the atmosphere between the two men was a bit strange, she didn’t dwell on it. She stepped down from the stage and went to the dessert area. 

Soon, the large exhibition hall stage was left with just Jonathan and Simon. Jonathan spoke up, “Did you know that I’ve already married Cynthia?” 

Jonathan and Cynthia’s marriage wasn’t made public. Not even the members of the Bennett family were told. The only ones who knew were a few of his close friends. 

However, on the day they got their marriage license, Celine stirred up a bit of trouble. The entire high society of Betrico found out. 

Jonathan wanted to know if Simon was aware of it. Simon’s eyes appeared to narrow slightly. 

His gaze remained as cold and sharp as ever. “Everyone knows that Nina saw your marriage license and then had an accident, losing a leg. Mr. Bennett, what do you want to ask? Do you want to know if Cynthia told me?” 

Jonathan’s gaze turned a bit colder too. He hadn’t expected Simon to be so straightforward.
