Chapter 88 

Lilian knelt on the ground with a look of repentance. Tears streamed down her checks, and she looked extremely pitiful. 

However, Cynthia crossed her legs, unmoved by her misery. “Your habit of kneeling has not seen any improvement, has in? But this trick is useless against me, mocked Cynthia as she bent down and pinched Lilian’s chin hard. 

Lilian gasped in pain as tears continued flowing out of her eyes. 

Only then did Cynthia let go of her 

Lilian sobbed, “Cynthia, you were born in a wealthy family. You can easily get whatever you want, but I was born into hell. My mother abused me since I was a child. I wasn’t even allowed to desire a new dress. Do you know how painful it is to live in such an environment? 

She hiccupped before gasping. “I admit that I screwed up when snatched Filip away from you, but Filip was the only light within my reach in my barren life. I had to try my best to hold on to him. I was too afraid to go back to that place. I was so scared. 

“Losing Filip is just a change of lifelong partner for you. With your status, you can still find an excellent partner with a formidable family background. But Filip was indeed the only straw that I could grasp in my hopeless and drowning life, so I had no choice but to grab on to him desperately, continued Lilian 

“Cynthia, you will never understand how suffocating my life from childhood until adulthood has been. Be in my shoes for one day and you will understand what I have done, cried Lilian hysterically. 

If it had been in the past, Cynthia might have been misled by her reasonings but at present, she didn’t care. Cynthia sneered. “If you love Filip, you can openly confess and pursue him. But, instead, you used dirty tricks. People like you don’t deserve any sympathy.” 

“Would I have won if I fought fair and square? Cynthia, I know I’m inferior to you. Filip would never have looked at me if 1 hadn’t resorted to schemes, argued Lilian. 

“So, you persecute me and ruin my life?” scoffed Cynthia coldly 

Lilian was stunned. She looked at Cynthia with tearful eyes as her eyes roiled with emotions, thinking. So, Cynthia was trying to provoke and sound me out. All that speech before was only so she could get me with this! If I had been really emotional, maybe I would have confessed. Thank goodness, I’m still clear–headed. 

Lilian exclaimed innocently, “Cynthia, what are you talking about? I secretly imitated your handwriting to write that diary and caused a misunderstanding between you and Filip, but I never tried to ruin your life!” 

Filip already knows about the trick I played with the diary. Since Cynthia came to see me today and given Filip’s personality, he must have already confessed to Cynthia. It’s better if I confess, which will make it sound more believable, thought Lilian. 

However, Cynthia saw through Lilian’s guise. The diary didn’t explicitly admit what Lilian had done, but Cynthia knew it had something to do with her. “Lilian, I’m going to ask you again. What did you do to me during the summer vacation of our freshman year?” questioned Cynthia firmly. 

Lilian replied innocently, “I really don’t know what you are talking about.” 

Cynthia stood up and looked down at Lilian. Her whole body seemed to be surrounded by a layer of cold air, and her aura was icy. “Lilian, now is your last chance. Tell me how you planned it and who the perpetrator was. Otherwise, don’t blame me for my ruthlessness, warned Cynthia 

“It wasn’t me. It was really not me,” begged tilian.

Chapter 88 

Cynthia stared at Liliamricily before turning around and sitting in the chair in front of the surveillance camera again. “Then, you can leave as long as you can walk out,” she stated. 

Lilian didn’t know what Cynthia meant. But she could feel that something was off about Cynthia then. She looked dangerous, like a completely different person. Lilian decided to turn around and leave. 

But just when Lilian was about to reach the door, she suddenly heard a terrible howling. It sounded like it was coming from the basement. Lilian picked up her pace. Just as she walked out of the mansion, she suddenly noticed four wolves in the yard. Looking at them again to reconfirm, Lilian realized that they were really wolves–not dogs! 

The four were huge and robust, with shrunk bellies, drooping talls, and green eyes. They were staring at Lilian fiercely. She finally understood what Cynthia meant by “as long as you can walk out.” She wondered in panic, ‘But why are there wolves here? Hungry wolves with fierce eyes? 

Lilian didn’t have time to ponder any longer as the wolves had spotted her. They all looked at their prey and slowly stalked toward Lilian. 

Lilian’s hand was still on the door frame. Upon witnessing the scene, she was too frightened to move. Those wolves had quickened their pace and rushed toward Lilian. Only then did Lilian finally come to her senses. She immediately turned around and hurried into the house. 

Lilian’s first–reaction was to hide in a room nearby. But Lilian had noticed when she went there that all the room doors had been removed. In other words, Cynthia had come prepared that day.
