Chapter 127
Kade’s POV
From the moment I had stepped into pack land to running into the Lycan King I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. As I was basically trespassing on pack land without a cause and if caught it would mean death or punishment.
‘Wrong! We do have a cause. Rosalyn‘ growls Bishop, my attention still on the Witch within my arms or at least was until the Lycan King, King Alexander ordered me to hand her over to him, something I had found myself reluctant to do.
‘Better do as he says‘ whispers Bishop.
Hesitating, I try to get myself to let go of her, yet when I don’t and he growls again I know that if I didn’t let go that second I would most likely die. Die by the hands of King Alexander.
‘KADE! NOW!‘ barks Bishop.
Blinking, I quickly move to hand her over, King Alexander now cradling Rosalyn within his arms. My eyes watching the scene unfold before my eyes as he continues to gaze at her unconscious form.
‘Could you have cut it any closer? You know mates are sacred and should never be touched by another unless it’s their mate‘ scolds Bishop, reminding me that it’s never okay to touch someone else’s mate without permission.
Gee, you think? Thanks for the reminder‘ I growl back at him, hating that he loved to remind me every single time a mate was involved.
‘Your welcome‘ boastsBishop, enjoying his moment only for us to be pulled from our thoughts by the Lycan King.
“What happened? Did you do this?”
Baffled that he would even think I could be the one behind his mate’s injuries, I moved to speak up. “What? NO! She came back to me like
this”
Watching him frown, I know he doesn’t believe me, for who would ever believe a Rogue. I know I wouldn’t but thanks to Hunters destroying all of Whitelcaw, I and another were basically packless, which allowed me to wander from pack to pack in hopes of finding my mate as I had no other living relatives left to stay with.
‘Give yourself more credit Kade, Kaylee did say we could have gone to Dawnguard but you chose not to go‘ remarks Bishop.
‘And feel like the social outcast that we are no thank you‘ I move to tell him only to be pulled from my thoughts again as Alexander moves to speak again, this time surprising me with an offer, one he knew I needed if I wanted to live another day.
“Follow me or get caught by the Pack Warriors and be thrown in the dungeons”
Binking, I find myself hesitating at his words, words I would have jumped at in an instant but with them coming from the Lycan King himself I couldn’t be too careful and from the look on his face he knew it too which prompts him to speak again.
“Look… I’m offering you a safe place for the night. You saved my mate’s life by bringing her here. The least I can do for you is offer you room and board until morning so you don’t get caught by the patrol wolves. After that you’re free to leave or you can stay, but that would be up to you if you did.”
Weighing my options, I know staying would mean getting caught, and getting caught was not something I had wanted to do, but staying also meant I got to stay with Rosalyn. And while I may not like to admit it, Rosalyn was the closest thing I had to a friend at the moment as we were both social outcasts as well as pawns for Lily.
Sighing, I move to speak once my mind is made up, “Thank you, your Majesty.”

Then as if that became the deciding factor does he move to lead me towards his house, my legs carefully following him at a distance as I continue to gaze at my local surroundings, each home more beautiful than the next, only to remember that of the house that we had been told to watch over these past few days and how grand it had looked.
“Careful now. Can’t afford to get caught too soon‘ chimes Bishop..
‘We won’t. I’ll make a plea bargain if it means being able to stay here with Rosalyn‘ I moved to say back to him, not wanting to be shunned away because of something I had been told to do by a psycho pitch.
Just then my eyes slowly take in another house that slowly came into view, my eyes widening at the size of it. ‘Holy shit! Is that his place‘ I exclaim to Bishop only for him to chuckle at my surprise.
‘Yes, I believe it is‘ chuckles Bishop as I continue to watch Alexander, his hand moving to open that of his door before moving to push it open, his eyes glancing to mine as he turned to make sure that I was still following him.
“Well? What are you waiting for? Come in already”
Swallowing a lump within my throat I move to do as asked, knowing that if I didn’t I would be more than likely stuck waiting outside, my legs slowly leading me inside as I move to shut the door, Alexander moving to lay Rosalyn down on the couch before moving to stand back up, his voice firm as he moved to speak to me before disappearing down a hall.
“Watch her. I’ll be right back, I just need to get the first aid kit”
Sighing I move to do as asked of me, knowing that if I didn’t then I would more than likely get myself into more trouble than I already Would be once I told him about Lily, my body now moving to sit down next to Rosalyn, guilt now running through me at the thought of
not being there for her.
