Chapter 83 

Third Person POV 

The moment Athena had gotten all the women and children along with those who couldn’t battle out of harm’s way, did Ares and Eros move to look at those who were left standing, their packs elite warriors as well as those capable of fighting among them and while it didn’t look like much, Alpha Hayes, Alpha Grant and Alpha Owen were all bringing people to come and help in the battle as well for when they had caught word of how many Rogues they were dealing with, the Twins knew they would be outnumbered and thus asked those three for help in which they said yes. 

“Relax, they’ll be here as soon as they can” whispers Kai, sensing his Alpha’s distress for no one knew when the Rogue King would show his face and while there numbers were low the goal was to try and hold off the Rogue King long enough for Elise, Isaac and Cara to arrive to help finish them off. 

“Sorry, I can’t help it, I’m worried that something feels off” whispers Ares to Kai, Eros checking on the other men as they prepare 

themselves for battle. 

“Off? In what way?” asks Kai concerned that his Alpha’s knew something that the rest of them didn’t. 

“I just have this feeling that something terrible is going to happen and I can’t shake it” answers Ares, the air ominous, a itself around everyone as everyone waits.

Just then the sound of howls begin to fill the air drawing the attention of Eros and Ares along with those who could fight as the sound of rustling could be heard as wolfs, hundreds upon hundreds of wolves move to make themselves known within the tree line causing Eros and Ares to growl. 

“Shit” 

Eyes searching, Ares tries to look for Ezra only to find him missing from the pack of wolves that gathered. 

“FUCK, He’s not here” growls Ares, his eyes still scanning the area. 

“Are you sure? Maybe he’s here but cloaked” whispers Kai, remembering what Athena told them about Witches and for that they were better prepared for that as they had Witches and Fae on their side along with Dragons. 

“Yes I’m sure!” snaps Ares, knowing what he saw and Ezra being one he did not see. 

“Then where” asks Kai in confusion, confused as to where he could be only to hear chuckling from another wolf. 

“Searching for the King, don’t worry he’ll be here soon, he had last minute business to attend to” chuckles a wolf as they all just sit and wait, the itch to attack building but without knowing where Ezra was, was enough to drive both males crazy. 

Suddenly before Ares or Eros could speak, do Ares and Eros feel it, a wave of panic as it washes over the link. “NO ATHENA” cries Ares, he and Eros now looking towards the bunkers the need to rush for their mate growing. 

“Stay I’ll go see what’s happened” remarks Kai only to pause when the air is filled with a scream, drawing everyone’s attention as they see Athena being dragged from the bunker by none other than Ezra, a look of fear and anger sitting behind her eyes as she’s dragged onto the battlefield. 

“LET OUR MATE GO! shouts Ares, rage growing at seeing his mate in danger as does Eros. 

Laughing, Ezra moves to ignore them as he continues to hold Athena, her arm twisted behind her back from where she had been dragged. ‘Athena darling, is everything okay? What about mom and the rest of the pack‘ asks Eros over the pack link. 

*There safe, he promised to leave them be if I came willingly, I’m sorry didn’t mean for this to happen‘ whimpers Athena through the 

link.

‘And you believed him? How did he even get into the bunker‘ growls Ares, as he was hearing everything between Eros and her. 

‘I have to believe him, it’s either I came willingly or risk him hurting all those children and your mom, one life for all those within the bunker‘ answers Athena, wishing her mates would understand. 

Knowing she was putting her own life on the line and preventing them from doing what they needed to do, she was left with no other choice, for as Luna it was her responsibility to make sure those who couldn’t fight were well protected and for another thing she wasn’t going to sit idly by and let Luna Gwen put her own self in danger just to protect herself, no this was her battle as well, a battle that she has been fighting since she was a child and it was time it ended once and for all. 

‘But‘ tries Ares, only to be stopped by Athena once more. 

‘NO… Please, you have to trust me, just like I’m forced to trust you‘ pleads Athena, knowing how her situation might look but needing them to remain strong enough to stop this. 

Fuming the twins are left without any other choice but hope Athena knew what she was doing as they continue to stand before the Rogues and Ezra. Feeling smug, Ezra continues to hold Athena, knowing that his wolves would be more than enough to wipe out Ares and Eros, except what he didn’t know was that the twins had backup on its way and once it did, Ezra would have no choice but to surrender or 

die at their hands once and for all. 

Enjoying their blight does Ezra move to grip Athena’s jaw with his hand before turning her face slightly as he moves to lick her cheek which earns him growls from both Ares and Eros. “Mmm, just as I remember it” purrs Ezra ignoring the twins for the moment as he moves
