Our Luna, Our Mate by Linda Middleman novel Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Athena’s POV

2 Months Later

It has officially been 2 months since the war with Ezra and the Rogues and while many lost their lives, many had been given second chances. Including that of the girl that I had been looking for during that time, as she had been hiding in the forest, too scared to fight even though she really couldn’t as she was only 16 and didn’t have a wolf yet for apparently when she had become a Roque, she had been really young, her parents both being from a small pack that had eventually been destroyed by Ezra including the girls parents forcing hey to join his pack

So when finding the girl did I eventually move to approach her, her body shaking like a leaf

Please don’t kill me whimpered the girl the closer I got to her

Don’t worry, no ones going to kill you, you’re safe hereI tell her, my eyes still locked with hers. Do you remember who I am?”

Watching her nod, does she move to speak. YYesyour Luna Athena, that girl that King Ezra was always hurtingreplies the girl still

scared

Nodding, I move to smile warmly at her. That I am, and since you know who I am, would you please tell me who you are?I now ask, wanting her to feel safe with me

II’m Seraphine but many just call me Seraanswers Seraphine who was beginning to relax around me

Hello Sera, that’s a pretty name, how old are you?I ask

16was all she said, causing Artemis to growl

That bastard, he’s glad he’s dead or otherwise I would rip him to shreds growls Artemis not happy with knowing that this sweet girl was a Rogue and only 16 to boot

Ignoring Artemis, do I move to speak again, Do you have a wolf yet Sera?”

Shaking her head no, I all but bite my lip, She’s wolfless right now so even if she had wanted to fight she couldn’t, she would have been dead in an instant, come my racing thoughts not happy with that tiny bit of information

Sera, I know this might seem like an odd thing to ask, but would you like to join my pack?I question my hand slowly reaching out

towards her as I await her answer

Looking towards my hand and then my eyes does Seraphine move to not her head, Yesthen with that she moves to take my hand, drawing a small welcoming smile to my face as I move to lead her back towards the others. Except upon returning, do I suddenly notice that my Uncle, Uncle Rick had begun to act a little weird causing me to notice almost instantly. Uncle Rick I call through the family bond, not wanting to get my mates involved

Yes sweetheart?asks my Uncle who was all but staring at Seraphine

Is everything okay? You look a little paleI admit, slowly coming over in their direction, Seraphine still next to me

Athena, my child, who is that?wonders Rick to his niece, his eyes never leaving Seraphine or me

This? This is Seraphine or Sera, why?I question, now curious as to why he was asking

And how old is Seraphine?‘

Chapter 87

16 and before you ask, she doesn’t have her wolf yetI quickly add, knowing he would probably ask as I hear him softly growl

Is everything okay? I’ve never seen you act like thisI tell him, hoping he was okay

Ya I’m fine, it’s just I think she’s my mate and while the bond isn’t complete due to age and wolf, I’m still able to sense it even if she can’t admits Rick, his eyes now soft as he looks at the girl

Mate? That’s wonderful but wait, aren’t you a bit old for her?I ask now lost for words

Age has nothing to do with a mate bond little girl, your only 19 and your mates are 23 so even though she’s 16 I at least have the patience to wait until she’s 18 remember wolves stop aging at 30, so being older doesn’t matter it’s when the Moon Goddess decides it’s time for you to have a mate or not remarks Rick for even though he was indeed older by almost 10 years, he knew she was his, his wolf could sense the faint bond between them, now it was only a matter of time until she became of age

Arching my eye, I chose to ignore the little girl bit for my uncle was right, only the Moon Goddess could determine when and how you got your mate or if you were even worthy of having one in which my uncle was clearly starting to find out as each time he spent with Seraphine the bond would steadily grow between them but until she was 18 Seraphine would yet to sense it, but knowing my uncle the way that I did, I knew he would be patient

Just then, I’m finally drawn from my thoughts for today was supposed to be about celebration not one of sadness or despair for today we were finally going over last minute wedding details for in less than 5 days I would be officially tying the knot with both of my mates, something I had been dreaming of since the day they first proposed to me

Can you believe it? We’re finally getting marriedI say to Artemis in excitement for we had gotten all the dead bodies taken care and the Rogues all placed within packs as well as gave loving homes to the other 9 children, everyone had gone back to the packhouse were we soon began discussing wedding details as it was how safe to plan

I know it’s like a dream come truewhispers Artemis with a smile, happy for us to finally be getting married

*Athena darling, is your dress all set and ready to go for the wedding?asks Luna Gwen, curious as to what my dress had looked like for the moment I had learnt we were officially planning the wedding I had taken it upon myself to find the perfect dress all while remembering my mothers necklace that I still kept with me as I would be wearing her necklace that day as a way to remember her when wearing my dress

*Yes mom, the dress is all set and ready for the big day, except I’m not so sure about these little oneI say with a giggle my hands coming to rest on my baby bump, my tummy having stopped growing as I now counted down the days until I gave birth, a birth in which could happen almost any day or at least that was what my doctor had said during one of my many trips as multiple births were considered a high risk for not only the mother to be but for the babies as well
