Chapter 123
limma‘s bravado hinged on the men‘s cowardice. Judging by the flustered look on their faces, she was certain that they couldn‘t stomach the idea of killing her. They were only here to make a quick buck and run.
Sure enough, her gamble was right. They faltered as soon as they heard the word ‘kill, and they shuddered as they took a step back.
While Emma let out an imperceptible sigh of relief, Arianna was on the brink of combusting. The latter pointed at the two men and yelled, “What the hell are you doing? You‘re supposed to screw her over! Stop being such ninnies. Man up and get the job done!”
Things were not turning out the way Arianna expected. She wanted Emma to scream and beg for her mercy. She wanted to strip away her pride and dignity and reduce her to a crying, miserable heap.
She did not expect Emma to be able to have the men shaking in their boots with just a few clever lines, delivered without so much as a molecule of panic or distress.
Enraged, Arianna marched up to Emma and grabbed hold of the girl‘s shirt, then gave the fabric a ruthless tug.
Emma had decided on a navy striped blouse today for the signing event, thinking that it looked decent enough without making her look like she was about to do somebody‘s taxes. The fabric was not particularly thin, but Arianna managed to tear it in a fit of rage anyway, and the buttons came undone. The black undergarment she wore which subtly revealed her curves immediately came into sull view of the two men, whose gaze smoldered lewdly at the sight of this.
For the first time since she was kidnapped, fear finally seized Emma. She blanched and tried to cover her modesty, but her hands were bound at the wrists. Humiliation and share washed over her, and hot tears sprang to her red–rimmed eyes as desperation kicked in.
