Noting the bewilderment in Avery's eyes, Nadine couldn't help but remark, "It's so cold out there. Why should I go and tolerate his temper? Isn't it better to stay in and spend time on my phone instead?"
She slouched back on the sofa and began scrolling on her phone intently. She looked perfectly unfazed, as if nothing had just happened.
Avery was perplexed. Did Nadine turn over a new leaf and get over Brad so quickly?
She didn't think it'd be possible, but Nadine was literally lying next to her. With her headphones on, she scrolled through her phone, laughing out loud whenever she came across a funny video. She certainly seemed unbothered.
It took Avery some time to finally get used to this side of Nadine. Nonetheless, she was relieved. Nadine could do whatever she wanted as long as she felt happy.
Meanwhile, Brad reclined on the sofa with his eyes closed. He seemed to be asleep, but he was actually paying great attention to the sounds outside the private room.
Although he was intoxicated and tett somewhat muddled he was still farky LOG

the sight of his current state
As long as she came, he’d forgive her for running away from home and all her nonser
It was nearly midnight, but the person Brad anticipated didn’t show up at all. He’d been waiting for more
