With a nod, Sean snuggled into Nadine's embrace and wrapped his arms around her neck. "Mommy, you overreacted just now. Daddy was just playing with me. That move was thrilling! I want to play again."
Seeing the excited look on Sean's face, Nadine was at a loss for words. Even after Brad treated him like that, Sean still thought it was thrilling?
What could she say? Should she compliment Sean's tough mentality or praise herself for raising such a brave child?
At a loss for words, Nadine shook her head, released Sean, and resigned herself to going to Brad's room to bandage his wound.
It was almost amusing. When she used to love Brad, she couldn't bear to hurt him even a little, not even a hair. But ever since the divorce was mentioned, she had started to care less about Brad.
The bite she gave him earlier was her second one. She felt no regret, only a sense of satisfaction. There was a certain pleasure in the revenge. She found herself oddly pleased, liking this version of herself.
With Sean settled and left with the maid, Nadine steeled herself and entered the house. If the wound hadn't been caused by her, she wouldn't have bothered.
As soon as she walked into the living room, she saw Brad sitting on the couch, waiting for her. Noting her entrance, Brad fixed his eyes on her like an invisible net trapping her.
Since the wound was still bleeding, he sat there without removing his coat. When he looked at Nadine, his eyes held a barely perceptible chill.
