Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 244

Brad stopped just a step away from Nadine. His eyes fixed on hers as if he intended to see into her very soul.

"Nadine, what on earth are you talking about? 'If' refers to something that hasn't happened. Does it make any sense to argue with me based on that? I could just as easily say that your so-called 'if' will never happen!"

He had only meant to scare Sean, not to hurt him. Even when he held him upside down by his ankles, he had kept a firm grip on his legs.

At that moment, he had seen the excitement on Sean's face, indicating that the kid actually enjoyed the game.

Nadine hadn't anticipated that Brad's arguments would sound so reasonable. Not wanting to continue the discussion about Sean, she decided to drop the subject and move on to other topics.

"Fine! Let's set that aside for now. I want to know why you suddenly became so harsh with Sean. Just because he spoke the truth?

"Your first love was never a good person. She only pretended to be gentle and kind in front of you. I've seen enough of such two-faced people. What makes you think she's right?

"As an adult, she was sarcastic and bullied a five-year-old. Do you think her actions were honorable?"

Brad's actions hadn't truly harmed Sean, so she let it slide. Jean's words, however, had infuriated Sean to the point of turning his little face pale.

As a protective mother, she couldn't forgive Jean. Even if it cost her life, she was determined to make Jean pay.
