Christopher and Adam were comrades-in-arms. Having crawled out of the jaws of death together, they had an unbreakable bond.
After the war, each of them started their own businesses. While Christopher was clueless when it came to business, Adam guided him every step of the way—allowing him to be where he was today.
Back then, the two of them had planned to become in-laws by marrying their children off to each other. Unfortunately, both of them had sons, so the plan was scrapped. Later, they thought they'd try again with their grandchildren, but once again, both families had sons.
Daniel's second wife did bless the Hamilton family with a daughter, but Adam wasn't fond of Gigi. Fearing she might harm the Caldwell family, he never brought up the idea again.
Needless to say, Sebastian dodged a bullet. He was grateful that Adam hadn't tried marrying him to Gigi, so he was more than willing to lend a hand when Adam needed help.
He wouldn't have met Nadine if Adam hadn't asked him to. However, he was pleasantly surprised. He really liked her gentle and graceful demeanor. It was as if she was a princess who had just stepped out of a painting.
Consequently, Sebastian had a low opinion of Brad. He didn't hold back, deliberately hitting Brad where it hurt the most. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was men who cheated. Seriously, how shameless could one get? Brad might look human, but he didn't act like one.
Brad had heard of Sebastian. He was also aware that they'd once been close to being betrothed and that the Caldwells and his family were pretty close. Their families did business together, but they'd never met in person. As such, most of their interactions were over the phone.
Now that he'd met Sebastian in person, he realized he was far more dashing and charismatic than he had imagined. Compared to him, Tyler didn't stand a chance. On top of that, Nadine's kindness toward him made Brad feel threatened.
