Getting to know Adelaide for over a decade, of course she knew her family business. She remembered the name of Clarissa and her stepmother's name Hanna even better than her own old brother's name.
After confirming with her sister-in-law repetitively, she finally realized that it really might be Clarissa.
She raised her head, thinking that Adelaide's family affairs in all these years were unclear to her, so she put on a rarely serious expression,
"Adelaide, tell me honestly if that damn sister of yours is really having an affair with Antonio Baron."
When confronted by her lady friend's questioning, she could not even raise her head in shame. However, with that close friendship before, Hanna soon realized what her reaction meant. She got even angrier than Adelaide and slapped her small hand on the table, cursing,
“This bitch is digusting. She used to bully you. Now she dares to steal your husband, I'm going to kill her."
Seeing how she was shooting up as if she really wanted to rush out to avenge her, Adelaide hurriedly pulled Hanna back.
"Hanna, don't be impulsive, it's not certain that it's true, let me think about it."
Hanna nodded, feeling stuck in her heart. Even the food tasted unpalatable. Hanna knew she must be very confused right now, so she comforted her with a few words, and sent Adelaide home. Before leaving, she constantly said that they must expose the ugly face of Clarissa.
Adelaide waved her hands and said that she knew it already.
She did not know if she should tell Antonior now, and was unsure if he would believe her.
At the same time, Antonio was having a headache over the business. There was only the sound of key strokes in the large office. He someimes slammed the mouse angrily, while at other times chuckled over something, touching his chin.
Not long after that, a knock on the door interrupted Antonio's thoughts. He straightened his emotions and said calmly,
"Come in."
Koby entered with a stack of documents. His face was still swollen from Hanna’s hit last time. Though Antonio really wanted to give him a break, the tough battle going on these days and Koby being his right hand man left no room for other potential men who could take over his works.
Antonio felt very guilty and bad seeing his face every day, but he could only gve him more salary as a compensation for his hard work.
He put down the document in his hand and looked at Antonio in a serious manner, but looked disturbed,
"Mr. Antonio, the stock price went down!"
Antonio squinted his eyes, he saw that the Barons' stock had been green for the whole day. In addition, the declining rate was even more shocking, which was also why he slammed the mouse.
He was delighted for a bit because that old fox finally got involved in the actions. Although he united with the Barons' sworn enemies to suppress the company, Antonio finally waited for him to make his move.
Nodding his head to show his awareness, he then waved his hand. Koby understood his meaning and was about to leave, but his phone rang.
His face turned sharply colder after answering the call, then he turned to Antonio with a serious expression,
"Mr. Antonio, someone is going to jump off the roof of the building across the street because of today's stock plunge."
"What!"
Antonio shot up.
“Let’s go!"
Saying that, Antonio grabbed his jacket on the chair and put it on. With a serious look, they went downstairs. At this time, there were already a crowd of people under the building across the street. Among them, there were pedestrians and pesky reporters. The police were in front maintaining the order, drawing a long cordon and laying a thick air mattress beneath where that man was standing.
It was a twenty-floor building. Any human would crash into dusts if they fell from the top. The negotiator was shouting from below with a microphone.
However, the mood of the man on the roof remained excited.
Antonio pushed out of the crowd with a heavy face, and went straight to ask the police about the situation. The police knew Antonio so told him he that this guy had been standing for ten minutes agitatedly. The negotiator did not really helped either.
He thought for a few seconds, and then said he would fix it himself.
The policeman led him inside the cordon in doubts and let the negotiator give him the microphone.
