Corentin had moved everything under the sun to this place, as though he was playing his role as the father.

Corentin had a meeting that afternoon and then left the company.

Jeremy also happened to be there to see Corentin for something about work. He placed his hands in the pocket, the documents in his armpit, and strode casually.

Just when he was about to knock on the door, Evan came by and said, “Mr. Hilton, the CEO went out.”

“He was also out when I was here yesterday. He seems busy lately?” Jeremy frowned.

“He is indeed busy.” Evan did not say much.

Jeremy raised his eyebrows, then walked away.

He saw a woman that made him feel troubled on the couch as soon as he entered the office. “To what do I owe the honor, Ms. Hilton?”

“I am your sister. Stop the nonsense,” Meredith said.

“I am busy. I don’t have time to chit–chat.” Jeremy sat on the couch. His long legs supported against the coffee table.

Meredith was not pleased to see his attitude.

She knew that no one at home could restrict him, and of course not her.

“I asked you to keep Ashlynn on the watch. What happened to that?”

Jeremy was uninterested. “What’s more to keep her on the watch? She is always at work. Right, she has been absent recently. I have not seen her in a few days. Corentin is busy too. I guess the two of them are always dating!”

He deliberately annoyed Meredith.

He knew that Meredith had a crush on Corentin, but she saw herself very highly as a rich girl, like she should, except that it attracted people who liked her only for her money. On the other hand, Corentin was not interested in putting in all the effort to impress her.

“Is she sacked?”

“It is better for you to ask Corentin about this.”

Meredith was irritated by his attitude. “Jeremy, you need to get this straight. We are family, and we are together through thick and thin. If I manage to marry Corentin, this will be good for both of us.”
