Ashlynn lay on the bed after a shower. She sprang up when she heard someone entering.

She was now so jumpy that every single noise would make her feel tense.

Corentin entered the bedroom, carrying his coat in his arm. His dark aura was even more intense than before.

Ashlynn could not comprehend. “Why are you bringing me?”

“Aren’t you close with Beth?”

Ashlynn was slightly out of breath. She then scolded furiously, “What’s wrong with you!”

Then, she turned from the other side of the bed as though only if she put herself far away enough from Corentin, then only would she be safe.

Corentin had not budged. He looked at her so calmly as though he was watching a bird hopping agitatedly in the cage but could never escape from it.

“Do you really think the Hilton family just wanted to treat you to lunch? It is because you wanted to cancel your engagement with Meredith Hilton. You are bringing me there. Do you think I am just a snowflake?”
