Chapter 1545
“I have nothing to say to you.” Lucas looked upset.
That was understandable.
“I’ve watched the surveillance video of your car accident on my way here. Don’t worry. I’ll certainly get to the bottom of this.” Anthony’s gaze was ferocious.
“I only know that you said you’ll completely destroy me if I were to contact Anne again.” Lucas confronted Anthony. “Do you admit it?”
“She’s my wife. Is there a problem?” asked Anthony.
“So, if you’re the one investigating this, would the result be the truth or would you just have
someone take the blame? These kinds of tricks are nothing new in high society, especially to you, Anthony.” Lucas looked calm.
“Do you have evidence?” asked Anthony.
“For the time being, no,” said Lucas.
“Then, accuse me only when you have the evidence.” Anthony grabbed Anne’s hand and dragged
her out of the ward.
“Anthony!” Anne shook his hand off when they got outside. “Are you the one who did it?”
“You believe him?” Anthony’s expression was cold and harsh.
Anne bit her lips. It was hard for her to judge.
The main thing was that she knew Anthony all too well. He could be so vicious that he would not give a damn about anybody’s life at all.
“It’s not me,” Anthony explained.
Anne was indeed stunned when she saw his slightly aggrieved expression.
“If I wanted to have him killed, I would have done it quietly. How would I let him have the chance to contact you?” said Anthony. His gaze, as he stared at Anne, was focused and deep. “I won’t put you in a difficult position.”
Anne’s gaze met the pair of deep black eyes, which were like suction cups that were about to suck her soul into them.
Should she believe Anthony?
She could not wrongfully accuse Anthony without any evidence, could she?
Also, she thought Anthony would explode in anger but in the end, he did not…
“Even so, you can’t agree to meet Lucas using my phone behind my back, right?” Anne was helpless.
Anne was stunned. She was speechless.
