Chapter 291
The manager hesitated for a moment. "Did you lose something?" "Yeah, we did," Bianca said.
"Something of great value," Michelle added.
The manager apologized, "I'm sorry, ma'am. There's an issue with our surveillance cameras, so we can't check. If it's something important, we can help look for it."
Both Bianca and Michelle paled at his words. However, there was nothing they could do if the cameras did not capture anything, so the two had to simply accept that Anne was lucky.
Anne sat by the window with Chloe on her lap, as they stared at the street lights together.
She listened to Chloe counting I1'* lights while drifting off to her own thoughts.
Anne thought back to what happened in the club.
She was not worried about Bianca finding out about Lucas or the children. The fact that Bianca managed to find her way to them meant that there was not other people inside the club because Lucas had informed the owner about it ahead of time, even if Bianca and Michelle wanted to investigate further, they would not be able to do so.
The car arrived at the residential area and the nanny took the triplets upstairs.
Since Anne wanted to talk to Lucas, the two took a stroll around the area.
It was still quite early, and there were other parents with children and elderly near them.
Once they were alone, Lucas asked, "what do you want to say?"
"I’m going to Berham," she said.
He was slightly taken by surprise. "You've made up your mind?"
"Yeah. I can't stay here any longer."
"May I ask what prompted this decision?"
Anne knew that it was because of the recent events. She had a miscarriage, lost her ability to get pregnant again, and was almost killed by Anthony.
She did not know what would happen next.
She was not afraid of Michelle or Bianca, the only person she feared was Anthony.
He was far too ruthless and knew no limits. If she ended up dying at his hands, her children would be orphaned at a young age.
When she did not respond, he asked, "did you talk to Tommy?"
"Not yet. I'll just keep him hanging for a while. It's not like I'm leaving the country. I'm just leaving Luton." She gazed up at Lucas. "I just feel bad. You've helped me so much and, in the end, I still have to leave. I'm sorry."
He chuckled with resignation, "What are you talking about? It's a good thing that you are leaving, as long as you are safe. I will go see you whenever I have time."
Anne was relieved.
"Did you think I would be mad at you?" He asked.
She tensed uncomfortably. Indeed, she had been worried that even if Lucas was not angry, he would be upset at the very least.
"Anne, I said this before, and I will say it again. You can't hide the kids forever," Lucas said, "Anthony is their biological father and
hM Id bcur the rraiHmulblllty of curing for them. Even divorced cotipIcN will have Io cure for Ihelr children. Junl bccaime they are divorced, Il damn* I mean the children uhould have to low their parenK A* long an you handle the situation with care, Il's not going Io affect much."
