As though everything Anne said was testing his patience.

Sensing the shift in his mood, Anne could not help but feel that he was becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. She swallowed hard and asked gingerly, “Why aren’t you sending the kids to school? They don’t have other kids to play with here. It’s good for them to be with other kids.”

“I will make arrangements,” he said. “No child of mine is going to Pinnacle Academy. I will just build a school specifically for them.”

The car arrived at the area Anne stayed and left after she got out of the car.

Anthony saw Anne walking back to the building with a hand on her back and smirked.

Anne felt as though she had aged over the night and climbing the stairs felt like the most difficult task she could imagine. She went up to the floor, before remembering that she needed to buy a new phone and heading back downstairs.

For unknown reasons, she could not bring herself to use her phone ever since Sarah mentioned that someone might be listening.

Anne walked out to the shopping area outside the residential area and bought a smartphone using a different number.

She planned to use her new phone whenever she was doing something that she had to hide from Anthony, which was calling Tommy at the moment.

She called Tommy, who picked up after a while. “Anne?”

“Yeah. I got a new number,” she said. “By the way, don’t tell anyone that I had dinner at your place!”

“Why not?”

“Nothing. Just keep your mouth shut.”
