Corentin looked at Ashlynn while sipping red wine. He put down his glass and asked, “Is this your first time drinking red wine?”

“When I used to work somewhere else, I needed to drink and socialize. I did drink some back then.” Ashlynn put down her wine glass and said, “You saved me and invited me to dinner. You won’t fail to surprise me.”

Corentin’s slender fingers held the stem of the cup and gently shook it. “Then can you explain to me why you are so scared every time you see me? We don’t seem to know each other, do we?”
