“…Hmm? Is your silence a no, then? Did you not just say that you were willing to do anything for me?” replied Sophia in a slightly displeased tone.
Shaking his head, Wade then said, “I… I’m sorry, but your request is a bit too much for me…”
“Hah! So that was all bullshit in the end, huh? Leave, then!” scoffed Sophia before downing her glass of wine and adding, “Makes me wonder whether you had planned for me to get pregnant that night…”
Startled to hear that, Wade immediately replied, “…W-wait, did you not take the morning after pills that I got for you?”
Smirking in response, the drunk Sophia then said, “I guess I forgot to take them. Regardless, it was the thought of getting pregnant with your child that gave me this idea in the first place. If you succeed, there’s a pretty high chance that he’ll dump her… but alas, you’re unwilling to even help me! I guess if I do end up pregnant, then I’ll just leap off some building with your child!”
“After all, what else is there to live for? The person I love hates me, and the person who claims to like me won’t even do such a simple task! That is, unless you change your mind! I wouldn’t mind marrying you if that’s the case!” concluded Sophia, leaving Wade momentarily stunned.
“…Is this the only way…?”
“It is. Look, she’s already taken everything away from me. As long as she’s unhappy, I’ll be the happiest woman on the planet! Also, as I’ve said, if you get her pregnant, then I’ll marry you. Hell, I’ll even move to another country with you and the baby, and we won’t need to speak of any of this ever again!” said Sophia in her attempt to get him to do her bidding.
Wade wasn’t really tempted by her promise of marriage. However, the fact that she had said that she wouldn’t bring any of this up again if he did as she pleased… That caught his attention. The truth was, he had constantly been trying to get Sophia to let go of her past. He simply couldn’t bear seeing her so hurt all the time… With that in mind, now that the solution had presented itself before him, he simply couldn’t refuse.
It took him a while, but he eventually replied in a reluctant tone, “…Fine. I’ll think about it…”
