“…You know that that isn’t possible. If you’re going to be talking about such things, I’m heading back to accompany Dolly!”

Moments after Xavia re-entered the room, she realized that Bianca had arrived as well. Unsure how to even proceed, Bianca walked up to Xavia before whispering, “What did I miss? Why’s Dolly getting married all of a sudden?”

Sighing in response, Xavia replied, “I wish I could answer that… Regardless, I’ve failed to talk her out of it…”

“Same…” muttered Bianca with a sigh.

“Well… We aren’t really in any position to stop her, really, so maybe we should just let her be…” said Xavia.

“While that’s true, we should probably be ready for when she starts regretting this decision… We’ll need to be her shield when she’s vulnerable!” replied Bianca, prompting Xavia to helplessly nod. After all, even she knew that this was the only thing they could do now.

Her train of thought was cut short when the smiling Dolly said, “Hey, are you going to give me your blessings or not…?”

Truth be told, Xavia was reluctant to do so not only because this was clearly a bad idea, but also because there were only five of them there… That’s right, though Dolly had invited Mark, Xavia, and Bianca, Kevin hadn’t invited anyone at all. This didn’t feel like a wedding at all, and Dolly deserved better than this!

Even so, she knew that Bianca was right, and after taking a deep breath, she forced a smile and approached the table before saying, “…Congratulations, Dolly! I hope that you’ll be happy for life following this marriage. Since this event happened out of the blue, I wasn’t able to prepare anything special… With that said, just take this money instead!”

…It was the check that Kevin had earlier given to her! Understandably shocked, Dolly replied, “I-I can’t accept this much, Xavia…!”

“Please, you’re my best friend, Dolly. Your kindness means much more to me than this money, and I just want you to have a bit of cash to fall back on, you know? Anyway, all this money is now yours, so do whatever you want with it. Also, if your husband or in-laws ever attempt to criticize you, just give me a call. I’ll shield you from any trash that attempts to hurt you!”

Upon hearing that, Dolly couldn’t help but tear up as she replied, “…Thank you, Xavia…”
